Binge Not Resuming Play

Hi from last night, I was confused why whenever I watched Six Feet Under, it always goes back to season 4 episode 4 even I watched all the way to episode 6. I tried IT2 - it always start at 22:08 time, doesn't matter I do it in my phone, computer and google tv. I'm guessing they currently have save issues. I tried to log out and come back in browser, the same issue.

Netflix is fine.

Anyone is facing the same issue?

UPDATE The same issue happened on Sunday and this morning. I contacted support an hour ago and the person confirmed seeing the same fault - then transferred my issue to technical department. Minutes ago, after logout and relogin - I checked the problem has been fixed. The weird thing is they also 'remember' of what I watched during the 'outage'.

Fairly Clickbaity title. Binge is not closing down.

i read it as what the OP intended. they didn't say it was closing down in the title

I read it as WreckTangle did. It's ambiguous at best.

on second thought i can see it from the point of view of you two as well.

as for OPs question, binge seems to me to be the buggiest of all the bog streaming services, so sounds like binge doing binge things lol. see if you can contact support to have your watch history erased - that may reset where the service has your current watch position saved

          • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for someone change the title. I thought for this Binge issue, I could have just wait till tomorrow then the problem will be fixed in their end as it may not be an isolated issue. I'll see till tomorrow, if the same, I will just email support.

@foxmulder: In my experience the sooner you live chat to support the sooner it will get fixed.

When I told them and they fixed it in a day, I mentioned the following "video doesn't play regardless of when I try to watch it", "it's only this one film/episode", "many people could be experiencing it and having the same problem", "I am disappointed because this is the first time I have experienced such an issue with a streaming service".

Anyway seemed like to me that the film/video file got corrupted somehow and so anyone who tried to access and stream it would result in no video playing. Binge was quick to fix it I think it's an easy fix but if no one notices/reports it it just stays broken.

You should post this as a deal, not a forum topic, so I can upvote.

  • I had a similar experience with a movie on my free trial awhile back. Clicked play and the movie would just show a black screen and never load, I tried it a few days later the same thing.
I was on a free trial and being upset about not being able to watch the movie I wanted I logged in on the computer browser and talked to chat support explaining the issue.
After reporting the issue it was fixed within 24 hours and I was able to watch the movie. Try doing that.

Binge is such a garbage app. It is shocking how bad it is.

  • +2

Yep. I’m only new to binge so wasn’t sure if it was just normal for the app

    Pretty annoying

I am on a current trial and the app is messy and hard to use. Press enter twice to pause/unpause, sometimes won't skip backwards or forwards, hard to watch the credits as forces the next episode, can't see which episode season is selected.

on iOS/tvOS you could try starting from the Apple TV App since it saves the correct episode position however the time stamp position within that episode will be binge's responsibility.
