  • Do they do 1 month plans?

    • Yes, they are called casual plans, but no you won't get a welcome credit on it.

  • What about upgrading? ie. Still in contract and wants to renew.

  • Yep, I can confirm this.

I called up a few days ago to enquire about signing up and the lady offered me a $50 credit.

I called again today to actually sign up and the rep told me they couldn't offer the $50 anymore however they could offer a $100 credit!!! Btw I signed up on a $79 cap porting from another carier.

    • Is it call only or in-store too? My friend is going to sign up tomorrow but he is getting it in-store.

      • It was over the phone (I don't know about in-store).

Btw this was a consumer plan.

  • I thought they stopped this?

Is this for everyone or just you?

    • he said for everyone that will call him.

  • They are also doing $100 credits on business plans.

sounds like telstra sales staff trying to get their quota in for the month

    • I think you might be right… but isn't it a bit early?

  • +3

    They used to offer $200…

I got $200 back when the iPhone 4 was first released on a $49 cap.

    • Yeah me too, we got two $49 iPhone plans and a wireless 3G plan and all up got $500 welcome credit. $200 each phone and $100 for the mobile broadband plan. Effectively didn't pay a cent for 4 months.

  • OP my i ask are you Jardon??

    • Hope it is… we need more proactive T people on ozb :)

    • souljarh…..jarh = jardon maybe?

  • the welcome credit depends on

    1. type of plan
    2. haggling skillz - which makes point 1 void.

usually get welcome credit, just a matter or how much, and whether you can get more than the guidelines states…

  • maximum $200 welcome credit,

according to Whirlpool, it is still active.
however depends on who you talk to.

    • I managed to get $330 about 2 years ago now (explained that it was needed to cancel from Optus and wouldn't switch unless I get it).
