Wilson NBA Authentic Series Indoor Game Basketball $44.99 + Delivery ($0 with OnePass) @ Catch

110

Wilson Indoor Basketball available in size 6 or 7

Usually sells for around $90 to $100. This is one of their most expensive basketballs (besides the genuine leather NBA ball which is $400)

Delivery was $7.95 for me or there are pick up options from Kmart that cost about $4

There are a few other Wilson balls on special. If you are after a size 6 the WNBA Indoor Game Ball is down to $58 + Delivery. It is essentially an EVO NXT ball in WNBA colours

Bought one of these at rebel last year. Returned it after using it once. Moltens are still way better.

    • The new Moltens (BGxxxx) or the old Moltens (Gxxx)?

Not a fan of the new ones.

    • I'd be interested to hear why you returned it? was it slippery?

I used to love Moltens and I have a GF7 but i hadnt used it for a few years and it gone a bit hard and lost grip.

I'm waiting for special on a BG4000 or BG4500 but did note they feel different when i checked some out instore

  • Have you had experience with the Authentic Series basketball? I bought the official Wilson NBL game ball when it was on sale last year and loved the feel of it; bought the Evolution on sale off Amazon thinking it's the same as the old school Jet Evolution and while still nice doesn't feel the same and if anything feels a bit slippery (doesn't help I have baby sized hands). Wonder how this one compares?

I also bought the official Wilson Solution NBL game ball and the Evolution on sale off Amazon.

I agree, the Solution ball is better than the Evolution.

This ball is closer to the Solution in terms of feel. For $45, I'm going to add it to my unused collection.. haha. It will be used eventually as the Solution isn't a durable ball even when used exclusively indoors.

      • Thank you sir! I bought it anyway thinking it'll be a spare ball for cheap haha so it's really good to know that it feels closer to the NBL ball than the Evolution.

I think the NBL game ball actually feels like the old Jet Evolution much like the old NCAA game ball from many years ago.

        • I can't say I've been playing indoors long enough to play with the Jet Evolution/old NCAA game ball.

I'll get this ball but may give away my Evolution. The Evolution is a good enough ball but I was surprised it's not better given the positive reviews around.

          • @JimB: Don't want to show my age lol but yea my cousin used to buy it for his backyard outdoor concrete court…I on the other hand picked up the NCAA ball long time ago when Amart Sports was still a thing for like 30 bucks pretty sure was pricing error at the time; had the ball for years only used it once or twice until I built my house couple of years ago with an outdoor court but using the multi-purpose sport tiles (Dream Court).

Tore up the NCAA ball pretty fast (but I think it was due to the age of the ball) while the NBL ball feels like it's holding up pretty well still (but I am just shooting around in the backyard not playing competitively or anything).

            • @basketballfreak6: Your username suits you!

I only got back into basketball when my kids started playing.

@JimB: That's awesome man, I only started again too after my house got built it's nice getting back into it even if it's just shooting around by myself.

Can't believe the leather ones are $400.

Pretty sure when Spalding made the NBA ones they were about $150-200. I still have one of them and thought they were a bit of a rip at the time.

    • Pretty sure the Spalding NBA ball retailed around $250 when it was last sold.

      Spalding's TF1000 is $150.

But you're right, Wilson are taking the piss at $400. Then again, rich people will pay that.

    • here is a cheaper option for genuine leather

      https://www.buffalosports.com.au/sports/basketball/basketbal…

Only size six left and Im not sure of the quality but at least no-one else will have one when you turn up to the courts

  • thanks bought one

  • You could have paid $4 for 1 month of onepass and saved yourself $3.95 delivery. Just cancel before the end of month.

    • Yeah, last time i did this they charged me anyway and then I had to chase up it and they did refund me. I couldn't be bothered this time. If people haven't had OnePass before there is also a free trial

  • anyone know how is the grip feel on this ball? is it soft & good grip or hard & slippery? thanks
