      he has fooled me.

      i have truely been ozbargained.

    • At what time did he order

  • Just noticed a 10% Dell cashback deal on my AMEX too

  • Price went back to $1749.30

    • +12

Do you boo at your friend's weddings too?

      • +5

      • first in line…. for a beating

    • +4

      I'm glad you missed out.

    • +1

      How unozbargain of you

  • How long does it usually take for Dell to confirm orders? I'm surprised nobody has been canceled yet

    • +3

Last time I ordered something.. It was within the first 30 minutes

      • +8

Take a bit of time to draft up an email to state it's a pricing error before they cancel. :P

        • +6

Im hoping for a voucher for the inconvenience..

          • +5

            @bart2: $10 voucher, min $2,000 spend.
Oh. hang on. This is not eBay

          • @bart2: A voucher of $2250 in value, please

        • +1

haha true, I'm just here refreshing the order page & checking my emails every 5 minutes atm..
          I can only hope

    • +2

It took 24 hours for me to get the confirmation email when I bought a monitor about a month ago

  • +2

I have no doubt that this is going to be a successful product, but the issue here is really the likelyhood of price error, so for those reasons I’m out.

    • +22

With the deal being over like an hour ago.. Not sure there were many other choices other than to be "out"?

      • How do you even know he doesn't have a time machine?

        • +2

Wouldn't he have been able to post this at the start of the thread then?

    • +1

i'll give mick dell a bell and let him know, thanks for the heads up

    • I’d like to offer $99 for 100% of the product

    • +2

This is OzBargain, not Shark Tank

  • +3

    Estimated arrival 19/09.. Fingers crossed!

    • What time was your order placed?

      • Around 7.30am. Not celebrating quite yet though because @Alyaeri below could be right

        • +1

True. Have there been any legit confirmations yet? (with some form of evidence to go along with the claim)

    • +3

You get an estimated arrival date as soon as the order is received, unfortunately I don't think this incidates it's been confirmed yet.

  • How does dell so frequently have pricing errors?
Is it just a sales tactic to drum up product views before they blame it on some "intern".

  • +1

this could literally make my weekend turns bad or happy

    • +10

If it makes your weekend bad, then youre doing it wrong.

    • You can always go to the dynamic island and chill out

  • -6

    Order confirmation received.

    Thanks OP

    • confirmation of order recieved or an ACTUAL confirmation of the order?

      • Confirmation of order. Step 2 of 5.

I don't understand all the hate on here.

Also just checking the order it now says quantity of 1 at $498 rather than 2 @ $249

        Not a good sign.

    • +1

be careful. your friend may be lying.

      • +2

You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

        • Noooo
          Neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Why on earth would they do that?!
You can't lie on the internet!

    • -2

Order confirmed is nothing. I have already have my 10 monitors delivered to me this morning ;p

  • +2

Order confirmation is nothing. Wait until it actually ships and then celebrate.

    • +13

Ships is nothing. Wait until its actually on your desk and plugged in.

      • +3

On your desk and plugged in is nothing, wait until it actually turns on and it's not faulty.

        • +1

Wait until you plug in your PC / laptop and the video shows up

          • +2

@delirium211: Video showing up is nothing. Wait until the warranty period expires.

            • @DustyAfternoon: Wait until the warranty period expires and then it dies. What am I celebrating then?

        • +4

Turns on and not faulty is nothing, wait til you browse ozb on your new monitor to confirm you’ve received the confirmation email and the shipping email and that you’ve successfully unpacked it and plugged it in to power and that it’s not faulty.

          • @Replicant: Waiting until the confirmation email and the shipping email and that you’ve successfully unpacked it and plugged it in to power and that it’s not faulty is nothing. Wait until you're old and becoming senile and you remember receiving the monitor and setting it up and enjoying 7 years of use.

Bought one but order hasn't been confirmed yet, they haven't charged my CC either. Likely will get cancelled, oh well.

  • +11

Their site held up exceptionally well to the OzBargain load. i'm impressed.

    • I mean, it's Dell.

      • It's Dell, dude!

    • Yes it was amazingly snappy at all times throughout multiple orders

I wonder what kind of scalable architecture they have and burst capacity etc.

      • They make their own servers, duh

  • +38

Maybe the real discount is the friends we made along the way

  • LoL

    Funniest start to my day

  • +4

    There's a deal now for $1,749.30.
I suspect they will cancel the orders and tell everyone they've dropped the price if they still wanted to buy it.

    Oh well.

  • Interestingly, if you sort the monitors on Dell's site by "Lowest Price", it's the first hit even though it should be much further down the list

Any legal professionals here that find a loophole in their price match T&C's?
    https://www.dell.com/en-au/work/lp/price-match-guarantee-anz

If you find a lower-price advertised on the internet for an identical Dell branded electronic product or an equivalent (as determined by Dell) Dell, HP or Lenovo computer, Dell will match that price. Call or Chat online with a Dell Expert and we'll walk you through the process.

    • +26

Legal professionals would just work normally and buy this monitor at the proper price.

      • +1

any legal professionals in da house

        • +4

          Only ozlegal

    • The T&C's that refer to price errors would be what come into effect here. I don't see them ever having to price match themselves?

      • -1

Sometimes, bait and switch = 'price errors'

Advertise product as $249, get heaps of traffic & order. Claim 'price error' and offer a measly discount on said item's original retail price for those baited.

        • Offer restrictions
Dell’s Price guarantee applies for 30 days from invoice date to purchases from Dell or Dell.com.au only. Lower price must be for identical product & configuration on Dell.com.au. Limit five product refund per customer. Offer does not apply to marketplace resellers, financing offers (including Special Financing offers), gift card offers, bundles, free items, pricing errors, service and installation offers, items advertised as doorbuster, limited-quantities, out-of-stock items, clearance, or Outlet products. Price guarantee does not apply to Dell’s Member Purchase Program offers for which customer is not otherwise eligible, existing Deal of the Day, Daily Deals, coupons, mail-in rebates or rewards. Price guarantee cannot be applied during special seasonal prices including Black Friday/ Cyber Monday/ Boxing Day/ EOFY promotions.

  • I selected Google Pay and then my order received email had instructions to pay via EFT and send an email to [email protected]. I paid their bank account and sent them an email, did I make a mistake?

    • +18

yeah, get a debit card or paypal account like a normal person.

      • I selected Google Pay with my debit card so no idea why they had those instructions in the email. Figured I'd have less chance of it getting cancelled but we'll see

    • +2

I wouldnt worry. My paypal order had the same. Think it's just a default msg

    • You are going to get charged again if your order is successful assuming the payment type on your order is google pay.

    • Lol maybe it will be honoured, because they didn’t take money money

  • +5

It'll be seriously " The deal of the Year" if Dell honor even 1 Monitor per customer. However for price tag $2k I'd expect USB-C display. I know there is cable/adapters for usb-c to dispaly port or HDMI, but direct USB-C monitors looks cool.

    • +2

yes wait till all we get the monitors and then we all arrange one day to send them email at the same time complaining about its not usb c give us partial refund

    • Sure but why would Dell lose all that money (these are well below cost). It’s not like 10,000 people will never buy a Dell monitor again because of a clear pricing mistake.

  • +1

My delivery status has that the quantity is now 1 (ordered two) @ $498. (But if I download the pricing and payment details it still has 2)
And on the side it has:
    Other Order Details
    Quote:-1
    Shipping Code: ES

Still, $500 is a decent price for the 1

    • +1

interesting same here - my email from them says 2 however.

      • Same

    • I ordered one and order details one $249, may be they only honor one per customer?

    • +1

-1, so you owe dell a monitor?

      • I got some nice Dell ones here at work that I am pretty sure the company bought just after CRTs went away. They are welcome to them!

  • +8

Just received an odd looking email that they obviously cooked up on the fly:

"Thanks for shopping with Dell. The item that you ordered was unfortunately priced incorrectly on our site, and we usually would not have the means to honour the order you placed. However, as a token of appreciation for shopping with us all orders placed for a Quantity of maximum 'ONE' Alienware Monitor will be confirmed shortly. If your order contained more than 'ONE' quantity of the item, you will receive a refund in the coming days and a confirmation email outlining cancellation. We hope to see you again soon."
