Good price. Will try to grab one.

But if you're planning to use it outside, its cheaper to get a few bricks and an old oven grill and diy

      Teach me papa.

  • Gonna pop to Mentone / Moorabbin at half time of the game to see if avail

    • +5

Mentone OOS - Moorabbin plenty of stock but employee said they aren't supposed to do clearance unless they have less than $1K worth of stock, legend sold me one for $30 anyway for my troubles

Don't suppose you took a pic of the sales tag? That's how you get other stores to price match 😉

      • Thanks! I'll try matching at my local tomorrow.

    • You show the picture and ask. My success rate is about 50%

      • Yes. The original post didn't have the image attached so it wasn't possible at the time.

  • Shown as $69 in SA

    • Which store(s) did you see that price?

      • Checked from the Bunnings website changing the store

  • Reckon this can be used inside? I live in an apartment with an enclosed sunroom with windows that open but it’s pretty much just another room

    • +1

too smoky I reckon, there are some reduced smoke models

      • rip, thanks for letting me know. I’ll keep an eye out

    • +5

I wouldn't use in any enclosed space, not for smoke, but for carbon monoxide. This can kill you without much warning.

If you still do, then at least run an alarm.

      • CO doesn't just kill - even small doses and intermittent exposure destroys brain cells.

        • And then they use it indoors for heating.

    • Box says for outdoor use only. Probably worried about carbon monoxide poisoning if used indoors.

    • Definitely not unless you have a big extractor fan. I have the same one under a different badge and it smokes out my back yard getting it started.

$69 At Mill Park - wouldn't price match.

I have 2 of these.. great item. but do not wash it or leave it exposed to moisture.. it will all break apart like a soggy tissue.. =(… cover it will foil when not in use and it should last quite a while. I use this mainly for Yakitori chicken skewers.. https://www.wandercooks.com/yakitori-chicken-skewers/

    • +2

I bring it out into my yard during summer to do this yakitori chicken skewers with a mix of both teriyaki and yakitori sauce. Probably can also do the chinese lamb skewer too with cumin and chilli. Damn good and addicting especially with an ice cold beer.

Totally true, i used to spray it down at the end of the night and it peel off. Looks nasty afterwards with crack, I was thinking probably made and shaped out of mud so heat, water and exposure is bad.

  • After I bought a weber, I hardly use it anymore. But the price is cheaper as it get.

  • $30 at Pakenham Bunnings

  • How do you clean it?

    • +1

you don't.. just empty the ash the next day or after its all burnt off. and wash the grills… the heat burns off the residue within and you empty it out together with the ash. its is a great item to have if you like eating skewers.

      • Yakitori time!

  • are these different to the ones on amazon that cracks after a few uses? can anyone owners give some feedback

    • Looks the same cheap material to me, better off with a Weber GA?

Full price at Hopperscrossing. Anyone know why the prices vary from store to store?

    • Was at hoppersx they wouldn't price match

  • FYI this is crap….. will crumble on you.

      Did you get it wet?

  • Did anyone try to buy 1 in Sydney?

  • I tried it at Lidcombe. They wouldnt price match. However I ended up getting https://www.bunnings.com.au/jumbuck-32cm-portable-charcoal-g… for $27

  • I tried a two stores in Victoria (Doncaster and Footscray West) which both refuse to match the clearance price. I was told that the only place they don't price match is other Bunnings stores (probably so they don't under cut each other.

I ended up pulling the Kogan page which has it for $44.99 (free shipping) in which they price beat it and ended up at $40.49.

    • Usually they will scan the barcode to see if it's a deleted item. If so they can normally take half off straight away. I find that if other stores have a proper printed yellow Clearance tag they're more willing to match as it's less likely to be an individual store offer.

  • Wow didn't know jumbuck 'made' or branded these now.

Do NOT leave these dogs in the rain or out in wet conditions. They turn into sand.
