Max Apple Gift Cards on Online Purchase

Apple says they can only do 8 gift cards in one purchase online, but I think you can also redeem your gift cards to your account and then just use it as a balance?

Has anyone had any experience redeeming more than 8 gift cards for an online purchase?

Yeah. Redeemed all gift cards to my account and just paid with the account balance to circumvent the gift cards limit.

You can only redeem a maximum of 8 Apple gift cards in one transaction on any Australian Apple Online Store.

As you mention in your post, you can redeem Apple gift cards onto your Apple account to get around this limit and then use the balance on your account in conjunction with up to 8 Apple gift cards, but keep the following in mind:

    • You can only have up to $4,999 on your Apple Account Associated Balance for an Australian Apple account at any time.

    • You cannot currently redeem an Apple Account Associated Balance in physical Apple stores. (Keep that in mind if you want to use Apple gift cards in the future to pay for an AppleCare+ repair or out-of-warranty repair in a physical Apple store (as an example).)

If you want to pay for a really expensive item (e.g. above $8,999), go to a physical Apple store first and ask to consolidate multiple Apple gift cards onto a single Apple gift card. You can apparently load up to $3,000 on a single Apple gift card. That means you could redeem up to $28,999 in one online transaction from your Apple Account Associated Balance and up to 8 Apple gift cards.

      $28,999

That's like a couple of camrys

I wonder if they will allow this for digital Apple GCs (purchased via the recent Coles giftcards.com.au promo).

    • Keep that in mind if you want to use Apple gift cards in the future to pay for an AppleCare+ repair or out-of-warranty repair in a physical Apple store (as an example)

You can also use Apple GCs to pay for 2 years of AppleCare+ (upfront) for a MacBook Pro or any other device in-store, right?

    • I tried consolidating apple gift cards today, they won't do it if the cards were NOT purchased at the Apple store, so cards from JB etc they won't touch.
