Buying an Old Apple Watch (Catch.com.au?)

Wanting to buy a Series 5 Stainless Steel (best bang for buck for my usage I think).
Recently moved to Aus (Perth) so not 100% familiar with all the retailers. Are there others I should look at/contact to see if they still stock this?

From my search, looks like Catch is the only place that has them (online at least).
Any idea if Catch will lower the price, or should I just take the plunge now at $499?

$500 for a series 5 Apple Watch sounds kind of high. Series 7 seems to go on sale (search the site) for under $600

    • The $499 is for the Stainless Steel model. Aluminium scratches easier, which will be likely from my work.
But you're right, almost same price for S5 steel, and S7 aluminium.

Happy to lose a couple features which I don't need though.
Otherwise those new Stainless Steel models are like $1000+.

      • May as well get the new Ultra Apple Watch if you are looking to spend that much, provided your wrists are big enough for it. It's made of Titanium and will probably last years longer.

aluminium should be fine if you put a case on it.

edit: if your work means you'll likely scratch the case, you're likely to scratch the screen as well. Even more reason to put a case on the watch, which to me means steel vs aluminium is irrelevant. Happy to know if ppl disagree with this.

A scratched screen is like a million times worse than a scratched case.

        • Stainless steel apple watches use sapphire crystal instead of Ion-X Glass fronts.

          • @chumumay: fair enough. Still, depending on the ferocity of OP's work environment, I'd consider a watch receiving updates for a few more years to be more important than rocking an older naked watch that can protect itself.

But of course, horses for courses.

    • Its a BOT.

      • A PHONE BOT

  • 6 series is a better choice, much more upgrade from 5.
While series 7 not much different from 6

  • I don't think its an old Apple Watch Series 5 Stainless Steel on catch.com for 499 (as in the title of the post)?
