Which Are The Best Bookshops around ?

I used to love Gould's at 536 King St, now it's gone. Another one for me was buying classics and seconds/rejected (but good) books for cheap at the Basement Bookshop near the Railway Square, that's gone too.

Sapphos at Glebe is good and still around.

Where do you go to buy books now?

https://kinokuniya.com.au/ in Galleries Victoria is worth a browse.
I used to do a big day out a couple of times a year, hitting up secondhand records and books; ashwoods, goulds, red eye, lawsons, and a few that floated around various George st basements.

    • I like Kinokuniya. You big day out sounds awesome.

Wonder if there are any places selling second hand or reject/unsold books of classics and older versions of books for lower price like it used to be sold at the Basement Bookshop.

        The Book Grocer

  • Berkelouw Books has a good (curated and reasonably priced) second hand and rare books store upstairs at a few of its venues (Leichhardt being my regular)

Bookfinder.com allows you to search and filter by total price and shipping cost to Australia, their (global) second hand search is fairly strong.
