Some Questions about Projector. Local Stock or Grey Import?

Hi Fellow OzBians,

I am after a projector for my new home. I have been looking to buy Optoma UHD55.

I found a few options. cheapest of them are

1 - Ebay - $2202.14

The eBay one is a Grey import but the Rio one is a local stock. Does it matter for projectors as to where you buy it from?

Any help is much appreciated.

It only matters if there is a chance that something goes wrong and you want to make a warranty claim under Australian Consumer laws.

AU $17.27 Standard postage

I can almost guarantee it will cost more than $17.27 to send a unit back to NZ for warranty inspection…

I just click the Rio page and it offer 10% off if you sign up - sorry I just close the page before reading further, I guess to their newsletter. Then the price should be the same right

Very good chance that Customs will sting you with tax/charges due to size, weight and value of that projector.
