Hi guys, I am looking for a basic laptop for my son that he can use to play ARBS, minecraft etc. I'm thinking a 10th gen (or similar) i5 with a basic video card and 16gb ram should suffice. Is that about right? I'll set him up with an external monitor so screen is less important than a gpu that keeps up.
Thoughts?

Anything 10+ gen Intel or 4000 series or above in AMD should be fine and 16GB is more than OK.
GPU is much more important most of the time gaming wise as almost any recent midrange laptop CPU will be fine for most games provided the cooling system is reasonable.
What is ARBS?

Does it need to be a laptop? Can easily get a Minecraft-ready desktop for much less than an equivalently-speced laptop.
I've decided on this option as I'm buying/building myself a new desktop over the next few weeks and don't want him using mine!
Most laptops should not need a video card to play games like minecraft and ARBS.
