I think a lot of you can probably calm down about your “data” lol… it’s pretty unlikely they have kept it saved. Data is not worth much to a toothpaste company.

By the looks of it they’re using a third party shopping engine and they just collect fields required for the shipment and to deliver you an email receipt.

To assume they’re doing anything more with it……. Pretty unlikely.

You don't know how the world works.

    • Pretty naive out look you have there. Data is king.

On their own page their privacy policy admits that they not only keep it for various things, but also pass it along to third parties too (Google analytics being one of them).

It literally says "We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. "

      • Yeah, no.

Google analytics runs in the background of their page (like most pages online) and is unrelated to the data in the Shopify API.

That data is not submitted to google. That’s not how google analytics works.

They’re two separate sources of data. It is highly unlikely that your Shopify data is sold or used for any other purpose.

they're asking for feedback on the promotion / order cancellation

"If you have any questions, reply to this email or contact us at [email protected]"

    • +2

We could all spam them back lol

  • Cancelled mine too.

What bullshit its a sample they should honor all accepted applications and not just cancel everyone.

  • Cancelled here too

  • So we gave them personal details for nothing?

  • Cancelled with no reasons given

    ORDER #11365
    Your order has been canceled

Is this a scam? Very poor spelling!!

  • Your order has been canceled…

  • Cancelled. My white glo is going to turn yellow real quick now.

Cancelled with one l. How American of them.

White glo doesn’t “have your details” or “sell your details.” They are a toothpaste company they don’t collect user data lol.

Your details were provided to Shopify, who provide the platform for the purchase, use it to send you a receipt and send your parcel. Shopify doesn’t “buy data” - Shopify is an e-commerce platform. And indeed, White Glo probably PAYS to use Shopify.

The only other platform that is indeed “collecting data” is google analytics, but they’re collecting general page view data (not the name and address you entered into the shop)… google analytics does that anyways. And in fact, if you have a tracker blocker they won’t be capturing anything.

People are way too wary about what “data” harvesting. Nobody is getting rich off the info on a few free sample mailers.

  • Cancelled email received.

  • My order was cancelled. Wonder if anyone will receive it.

Mine cancelled as well. Why would their system let the order go through if there was only a certain number of samples. Now they have our information and will likely get advertising emails. They didn't even give a reason on their email to advise they had cancelled order. I have written asking for an explanation but won't hold my breath waiting on a reply. Seems most of us are all in the same boat.

So, anyone here that did not have their order cancelled by this dirty dirty mob?

  • Gave me details then they cancelled my order

I figured it was a tongue in cheek comment, apparently not.

      • I meant to say I registered their email. They have mine so onlyfans can spam them. I've been getting odd spam calls, not sure if it's related or not to this registration. But a little odd. ☺️

        • I meant to say I registered their email.

Wait, what? There is no ownership verification of your email address when you create an OF account?

  • Order has been cancelled 🙃

  • Looks like it's back in stock now

Not sure whether to remove the expiry though, after all the cancellations last time…

    • More available now if a different email address is used.

      • Why would anyone do that? All the previous ones were canceled.

        • There is a 100/week limit and it's pretty obvious all the cancelled orders exceeded that quota.

Just a regular phishing scam - got all my details and then cancelled the order. I have done immidately after it was published and recieved a positive feedback initially. But was cancelled now.

            • @Yola: A cancelled freebie that was advertised as having limited availability isn't necessarily phishing. In this case it's a genuine company and you could deselect the marketing list subscription. Yes they didn't set up their system well, but that's kind of another problem.

            • @Yola: Took them a week but shipping confirmed for my order. Their promo is the real deal although it looks like they've screwed up their checkout button and it redirects to some spam domain.

Got this email from White Glo after I asked why they cancelled my order:
"Unfortunately, we received an unprecedented amount of interest which exceeded our weekly cap of 100 free samples per week as laid out in per our T&Cs. That being said, our free sample promotion is currently live again this week and able to be claimed!
So we have created a new order for you."

@Wontons: Yeah. Received the same email from White Glo.
Apparently, free sample now on its way after initial order cancelled.
Still no warm glo from white glo.
