Spider-Man Trilogy Blu-Ray @ Big W $11.94 (instore)

680

Spotted this on the shelf at Big W. It scans at $15.92 but with the current 25% off DVD/Blu Rays it comes to $11.94.

I know most people probably already grabbed the older/similar Spiderman Trilogy set for $20 at JB Hi-Fi a while back but thought this repackaged set was a good price for 3 discs/movies. It also takes less space on the shelf LOL.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be available on the Big W website.

I already have the trilogy on DVD but am still tempted by this even though I don't own a Blu-ray player!

There are plenty of ps3 deals around, which are great media players and upscale DVDs

Hmm I don't think the Spider-man trilogy is a good enough reason to warrant a purchase of a Ps3..especially the horrible third one

Doctor - we have another case of crazyis ozbargainis here I think

      (welcome to the club)

  • Just called my Big W store, and they said the set comes up at 19.70, so 20% off would be around 15.90. OP. are you sure the scanned price didn't include the 20% discount? Edit: $15.94 is still a good price given JB is selling for $19.90.

  • Damn it..got this for $24 from JB Hifi

    • same… dang :(

      • Well, it is $24 in-store and $19.99 on their website, but the salesperson at my local JB said they are happy to price match with the on-line prices.

  • Who let spiderman in the house. xD

  • I think someone made a mistake. A great deal nonetheless. Just wished they'd stop dicking around and released it with the original bonus content as well. Bought a s to replace my older three movie box set which had two discs each.

  • Can someone let me know if they are region ABC please? I have a PS3 from Japan and most retail BDs are region not region A.

The original were, and same as this set - mentions A, B and C on the back, so you're in luck.

      • Yes, can confirm actual item has ABC.

  • Doc Ock's experiment in number 2 is subalicious!

http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/72760 for a cheap blu ray player.

  • I bought a Toshiba Blu-Ray player for $88 in January. All the normal stuff, USB, ethernet, upscaling, but also you can change the region. Got it from Harvey's, but they've got an LG on special for $88 now.

I'm very tempted, even though i'm not a huge fan of the spiderman trilogy (toby maguire and kirsten dunst are erksome). Can't wait for the new movie coming out soon. I'll probably buy this seeing as it's only 12 bucks.

  • Got this with comic for about $15 @JBhifi. Maybe a mistake at the counter thou as the price sticker was about $19.95. Just wanted people to know that it was a 3 disc set (no bonus discs) + most likely different from older trilogy set as as Spider-man 1 has a trailer for the new Spider-man movie.

  • Thanks got one today from BigW at Carindale Westfield in Brisbane QLD, they had a few copies left!

  • Sold out everywhere in SA unfortunately :(

I went to Kilkenny Big W and they didn't have any there. I asked the girl/lady/child if any of their other stores had any copies left, she rolled her eyes, huffed at me and said, "I don't know, we're all different. You can try other stores." I said, "Ok. So you can't tell me if other stores have any copies or not?" She repeated, "I don't know, we're all different." I turned around and walked away. She was slouching all over the counter, she wouldn't even stand up-right to talk to me.

I actually enjoyed this Big W experience - I'm curious as to what's going on in this girls life now. I'm tempted to go back tomorrow to see if her mood has shifted. I'm sure there's a good back story behind the eye rolling and slouching.

I watched a staff member search the other day - they can only confirm their own store stock. Otherwise, they have to call each store. The search mechanisim on their computers looked terrible too, they have to search like this: BRD #spider-man trilogy#
If they don't get the exact hit with correct spelling and description it comes up as a complete blank. Bad system = bad attitude?

Interesting if you ring back stock magically appears sometimes.

I found one tonight at cumberland park and marion apparently has 10 behind the counter if someone in SA is still looking.

  • Can confirm this is correct - $11.94 (discounted down from $15.92) - got a copy from Big W Riverton Forum WA. No copies on the shelf, but noticed quite a few sitting in a box on the counter, and grabbed one from there.

does it available in just dvd?

  • Went to Forrest Hill. They were selling the movies individually for about $12 each but I went to the back and found the trilogy.

$11.94 after discount. Am a happy camper. :)

  • Found a copy at Big W Willows in Townsville. Exactly as described. Staff said the computer told them they were out of stock but I think it just didn't work. Managed to find this copy on a rack out in the centre isle.

    Thanks OP!

  • Marking as expired as the 25% off deal has finished.

  • For those who missed out, it's available for $16 from JB Hi-Fi at the moment, during their 20% off sale.
Just bought it myself. It comes with a small comic book. It's 3 discs in 1 case.

I also bought the 4-Play version of The Green Hornet for $16. BluRay, BluRay 3D, DVD, and digital download copy.

    • $4 more for a comic, not bad…YMMV
