Best card for salary sacrifice

My employer offers to send my before-tax salary anywhere to help saving me on taxes. I heard about an offset account for mortgage, which you can use in the same way, but to save on mortgage and in a larger scale. While I need some service for daily spending, for overseas travel, to buy things online, but pay from the salary before tax.

What bank or service can do it?

What is the best way to benefit from salary sacrifice other than buy a car or a house in credit?

Get it sent to Cayman Islands..

  • I'm pretty sure you need to physically purchase something for this to take effect, not just having the funds available in an account.

Salary sacrifice anything you can claim in your own name. Simply put, The benefit is getting your GST back :)

The ATO this OzBargainer would like to know who this employer is so they can get out of paying tax.

    Look up fringe benefits tax.

Could be healthcare or charity, but it certainly sounds dodgy the way OP has worded it.

Sounds mostly like cash under the table to avoid payroll tax/super but with traceable transactions that the ATO can see. Genius.

  • Can use credit card statements to claim. They worked out from the repayments you made into your credit card account. I was able to use the previous year's statements to claim when started the salary packaging.

    • Just any credit card? Did you ask your employer to pay a fixed monthly amount?

Yes, any credit card. This might help, look under ‘living expenses’ on reimbursement basis.

        • Fantastic! That's exactly what I was looking for. I will ask Maxxia if they do the same. Thanks a lot!

  • Swiss bank account?

  • Doesn’t sound dodgy at all.. and how have you just heard of an offset account?!

    • I know only the offset accounts attached to mortgage. Is there something without it?
