Last year, in November, I subscribed to Amaysim PAYG $10 plan with 365 days expiry. I just need this number to receive SMS/calls only.
As the expiry date is coming up, is it possible to renew this plan for another 365 days without recharging any amount? Or the only option is to transfer to the other cheapest Aldi $5 PAYG?

From memory the cheapest aldi mobile recharge is $15.
Aldi's 365 day validity $5 sim is a good option too, given that you will actually be able to receive SMS like 6 months after that 1 year validity period.
Otherwise if you want you also consider the usual Boost monthly deal, 100% CB
and then port to a Kogan mobile sim for $1. then repeat with boost.
