Are these the ones that double up as a cigarette lighter?

    • +4

It doubles as a finger warmer.

These have overheating issues when copying larger files, causing them to slow down tremendously / crash the USB.

I've owned 2 of them, bought from Amazon myself. I can confirm that Gezzaman is correct. These have overheating issues. They get seriously hot. There are reviews and pictures on Amazon site from other users showing this flash drive melted from the heat. I've owned other flash drives too, but none got heating issues like these.

I own 2 of the 128gb versions myself. Both of them are bad

    • +1

I’ve noticed the hot part but not the crash part.

    • Do you have any usb recommendation for non heating usb issue

    • +1

I've had the overheating and tremendously slow file transfers but it's never crashed. Granted, I don't use it much for aforementioned reason.

    • Thanks saved me from purchasing.

I have the plastic USB2.0 Sandisk one which is a little bit longer than this but still short and it has not given me any heat issues.
      This one https://www.amazon.com.au/SanDisk-Cruzer-Blade-flash-drive/d…

So probably a heat issue caused by the Ultra fit USB stick being too small. Probably only a good idea to get this if you need the small size otherwise it won't fit in your use case or something.

Perhaps heating problems depend on the hardware you insert them into? I use a 256gb for Veeam backup in a Dell USB3.1 slot. It does get very warm but not objectionably warm.

  • Good price, but from what I can tell some sizes aren't on sale, e.g. 128Gb is the same price or less in other Sandisk models

  • i did a google shopping search and all of them appears to be on safe for around the same price

I bought 2 of those 32gb in the past, no heating issue, but the most recent one i purchased at jbhifi had the heating issue. All i did was plug it in the usb port and after 3 mins it got very hot. I didnt even transfer anything across for it to be that hot. Went back and swapped it for another one and that one was ok. So really depends on luck if you get a dodgy one.

    • I must be unlucky, I've bought 2 128gbs and they both do the same, heat and slow transfer when heated

    Perfect for car stereos.

I had a 64GB which ran very hot and then failed.

  • Bought one before, overheat when copying large file. So I only use for backup documents.

  • I use it for my car stereo and works perfectly.

  • Are these any good for putting movies on to plug and watch through a TV¿
