short ones seem OK, 10m can be cheaper elsewhere

    • We are still waiting for the shipment for the cheaper version of 2m HDMI, will try to make a deal here when the stock arrive.

  • +5

After a quick ebay search you can find a 3m version cheaper than the 2m version.

Just realized previously I bought the 1.5m for $1.95 but this one is only 1m.

  • +1

good deal.. damn already brought a 1m for like $3 the other day! DOP!

    • Same, still went for this one though. Just in case the others are a dud…

      • Was it from shopping square?

  • Nice…. not an amazing price, but they seem like decent quality plus needed one for the xbox I bought from DSE the other day for $199! Thanks….

    • exactly same here!! already have 2 cables, bought one 1m this time for laptop to lcd and 2 x 2 meters that i already had will be used for ps3 and the new xbox360.

Got one 1m for $1.95. I can still see people buying that 1m cable for $3.95. I hope they are still thinking it to be $1.95 as link is working, but price is different.

Rep should change the title for 1m cable to 2m one or expire the current deal so that people know price has changed or remove the link.

10m HDMI is expensive for $18….could be cheaper elsewhere.

    • I just bought 1 last week for 22 so this seems to be cheaper. care to provide a link for the cheaper 10m hdmi as I might need 1 more=)

      thanks!

The diamond plated ones on Amazon are still the best. I'm going to sell my house so I can buy a pair.

    1m cable for $3.95 now.
We call that bait n switch.

You could have limited the quantity, but you didn't.

    • -1

The deal is marked limited 100 buyer at $1.95 from the beginning of the post. 1M cable @ $1.95 are sold out as updated above. why is that a bait?

      • Technically it's not sold out as you can still buy them for $3.95 from the same link.

It would've been nicer to create a new eBay sale limited to 100 items. Then being "sold out" would've be more appropriate.

        • +1

exactly. and it costs nothing to limit eBay sale to 100.
I see you and your staff tried to neg me away, but even with 6 staff i'm only at -3.

we hoped SS was going straight, but it seems it's just one scam after another.

why is that a bait n switch? Look up the definition. Yes technically you switch to a different product that costs more. In your case you switch to the SAME product that costs more which makes it all that much more despicable.

    So quick question.

How many people purchased HDMI cables just because it's cheap? Resulting in now have a stack of them sitting around doing nothing "just-in-case" you need one someday?

    • me

    • me too

  • The 10m is only $9.95 (click on the link and you'll see). I got a 2m. Thanks OP

    • +2

What about that tricky $7.95 postage fee? I know, disrespect to sellers who employ this marketing strategy.

      • Doh!! I missed that.

      • +1

That has long been SS's strategy. They stopped posting those deals here cuz everyone negged them. Seems they're back.

  • Why are there hardly any specials for mini and micro hdmi?
Surely people buy as many cameras as tv, video playback devices etc.

  • Double post, sorry

    • They got called out and so won't change the price on the longer ones

      From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bait-and-switch

Bait-and-switch is a form of fraud, most commonly used in retail sales but also applicable to other contexts. First, customers are "baited" by advertising for a product or service at a low price; second, the customers discover that the advertised good is not available and are "switched" to a costlier product.

  • Missed the 1m cable again. Oh well the mrs is getting sick of these spare HDMI cables I have lying around at the moment. She doesn't understand it's not hoarding if you plan to use them one day… oh wait

  • Any Displayport to HDMI cable deal?

  • The excuse for the price change is that the deal is limited to 100.

So instead of setting up ebay for $3.95, cloning and setting $1.95 limited to 100, they decide it's better to have someone manually go back switch the deal price after a while. It is both fraudulent and costly for the retailer to do it manually.

One can only assume it's Bait-and-switch
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bait-and-switch

One assumes they think some users will mistakenly press buy even at $3.95 without thinking or comparing with other ebay dealers that are selling at $1.98.
