Akko ACR Pro 75 RGB Hot-Swap Barebone Keyboard $109 Delivered @ PC Case Gear

110

On sale! (normally $149) The Akko ACR Pro 75 RGB Hot-Swap Barebone Keyboard is a compact-sized barebone keyboard, allowing you to add your own keyboard switches and keycaps. It features a gasket-mounted hot-swappable design, is compatible with 3-pin and 5-pin switches, acrylic and CNC build, stainless steel weight, aluminium and polycarbonate plates, poron plate foam, silicone switch pad, EVA case foam, RGB lighting and includes pre-lubricated Akko plate mounted stabilisers.

Note: This keyboard is a barebone edition - assembly is required and only requires switches and keycaps (sold separately).
This is even better for those who actually mod their keyboards. The board already comes with a lot of nice acoustic addition such as poron plate form and silicone switch pad. You can tape mod or add deadening mat at the bottom and change out the gasket foam. I think a PC plate is included as well as an aluminium plate. Not bad.

The reviews on this keyboard are quite good:

Great entry price/board into custom keyboard for new starters without breaking their bank (like srsly).

  • Not bad. Kinda wish they have the solid cases though. And hopefully this doesn’t have the recessed usb c port like the pc75b plus that I returned.

Also for budget 75% keyboards, Feker IK75 is available for this price, comes with knob and is also available in solid cases.

    • also available in solid cases.

Apologies for my ignorance, solid cases as in solid colours and not semi-transparent? I thought the IK75s did have a semi-transparent, frosted look to them that allows the RGB to be seen through the case.

    • I agree, Feker 75% is a great budget board too and i think the deal breaker is that it's wireless. The trade-off is the wireless feker does not have QMK and VIA.

    • The cheapest I could find was 150 AUD from banggood.. where did you find it for 109? TIA :)

They used to be only available in Milky coloured cases for RGB shinethrough, about maybe 3 months ago on Taobao I purchased an IK75 in Solid White for under $100 shipped. Solid Colours seem to also be available on Aliexpress, but are more expensive.
Here is a Photo of my IK75 in solid white if anyones interested: https://imgur.com/a/JFZkTY8

          Awesome, thanks timmy :D

        • Do they have any solid black IK75s? Clean looking board btw, looks great

@CrispyChrispy: Thanks, I just checked both Taobao and Aliexpress stores for you, for some reason, they only have smoky black and no solid black. Weird that they only made a solid white version, but not for black.

  • Might have to grab one to build a work keyboard - Although switches in a plastic case seems like a noise complaint waiting to happen

    • Not really; most keyboards whether mechanical or not are in plastic cases. Plus you plop some foam or polyfill in there and use silent switches (maybe Boba U4s or something) you'll be fine

Fair point. I was hoping to use something I had on hand just to reduce further cost

        Sitting on
Akko Radiant Red and Rose Red
        Dark Amber T1
        Seal
        Jwick Black
        Jwick T1

None are probably going to give me a quiet enough sound - Although in saying that listening to people type on their Dell sh1t all day is just as loud. So maybe i need to go with the "I do what i want" approach lol

        • i recommend getting the Akko Matcha (it's $15 for 45 on PCCG but there's shipping..).
It's quiet-ish, 55g and long stem giving the deep thocky sound.

        • I'd go for Outemu Silent Lemons or Peach for a quiet office experience. Currently using that in my Akko keyboard at work! Really cheap from aliexpress at about USD26 for 110pc and very fast shipping too.

    • actually, from personal experience, i think plastic keyboards are the way to go with work keyboards because:
      1. they are light, so you can carry them around if you have agile work desks or work from home sometimes
      2. they are actually acoustically quieter than the metal keyboards when done right and it's easier to mod compared to metal ones.
      3. For sure they sound a lot more pleasant than the shitty standard Microsoft or DELL keyboards at work so your colleagues might not hate it as much. As long as you don't get the blue clicky switches…..

  • Wow, don't see many barebones, true-gasket mount kits at this price point in this form factor with a weight in it. Would probably pick up if it was in black though!

      roflmao, this is garbage.

this isn't a true gasket mount. i own this, this is stiffer then concrete. absolute waste of money. i thought this would be a great budget gasket option. very disappointed. zero movement. no space at the bottom for travel, also no space to fill with foam. the best you can do is tape it. actually expensive garbage, you can get better for cheaper. the buzz word to sell this is gasket mount, but this mine as well be just a tray mount.

  • Shame it isn't full size or 1800 layout

Holy cow they give you a lot of things, like an aluminum plate (had a polycarbonate plate), pre-cut case foam, silicone gasket, switch puller, hex key etc etc.

Only complaint I have with the keyboard is the fact that the switch is north facing and therefore you need something other than Cherry profile keycaps (and the fact that my switches haven't arrived from Singapore, but I digress).
