ALL-IN-1 PC - Please Recommend. Thanks!

Hi,

I'm after recommendations for a pc as stated below. Is there any good deals so consider?

PC: All-in-one (might consider small form desktops)
Screen: 21"-24"
Purpose: Educational for kids (8-10yr)
Budget: Upto $1500 (but prefer under $1k)

Thanks in advance.

  • Taking into account you live in SA, and ASSUMING you cannot build
I recommend looking at this store

    esp, these http://www.photech.com.au/pdf/PHOTECH_SYSTEMS_G.pdf

If not just go with this one

and also any of these monitors that suits your need

  • There's only a few options for All-In-Ones.
    iMac
    Dell
    Acer
Of those, the iMac is by far the most common… They're all pretty pricey for what you get.
For kiddies, iMac is going to be hard to beat with a glass screen to protect it from greasy fingers.

Cheap options are things like an EeeBox or Aspire Revo

I'd seriously look at Secondhand for an iMac, you don't need the latest and greatest and it's got a higher chance of getting destroyed than a machine for you.

  • Just bought a HP 320-11120A from OfficeWorks (SA) for $935. Love it. All in one, beautiful 20" monitor, 1 TB hard drive. There is also a 23" version but I thought the screen too obtrusive. It's quite heavy so it's not really portable. Only ONE cable (plus power of course). Great speakers. Why build when you can buy?

    • Why build when you can buy?

When you want value for money and customizability?

Also major issue for all-in-ones is upgradability and the ease of repair.

    • atm, my kids have been using a HP touch 310 and a HP laptop. Laptop screen is a bit too small (15").

  • Officeworks are good for that. Or wait for Aldi to have one of their PC deals.

  • All good suggestions, Thanks guys!
atm I'm leaning towards a Dell all-in-1 OR Vostro 8500 (so i can use it as well). :-)

  • fyi - Ended up with a top specs Dell Inspiron One 2320 Touch (2 yrs wrt) for ~ $1260 ($400 off).
Anyone had experience with Dell delivery? Wonder how long it takes for delivery….
Thanks again for all suggestions. Cheers…
