Bought this a while ago and has served me really well. I'm able to automate feeding routines throughout the day and check the camera. It also has backup battery power, so it will continue working in a low power mode if you lose power, which makes sure your pets keep getting fed.

Lowest price ever according to the camels.

That looks like a well-fed pusssy

  • I nearly pulled the trigger on this one last night which has $20 off at the moment: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0B8RSQP9Z
It's a bit smaller but I think it would be ok for a cat.

4L of food goes a long way unless you have a lion. 8L means you'll probably only have to worry about it twice a year. This one is almost double the price but has more reviews so I'll probably get this

      • I have two big boy cats who use it. I fill it up with a 2kg bag of cat food, and that lasts me about 3 weeks. The 8L fits the 2kg bag perfectly.

        • Oh. right. I have incorrectly assumed 1L = 1kg. Well thanks for the real world feedback. I guess its not as set and forget as I thought. Imagine only having to worry about it once in 6 months…

I got one very similar to that and I wouldn't recommend it. Main reason being that my cat is able to shove his dirty hand into the hole and spin the mechanism inside to get as much food as he wants. I ended up sticking something over it so that he's not able to anymore but it's best to find a better design.

        Smart cat ☺️

Good to know, thanks @ChillBro! I wasn't so sure either last night so glad I held out. Although, our cat isn't that smart.

      • So, the mecahnism on mine is very firm. I struggle to turn it. Plus it has a 'grill' of sorts around it to make it more difficult for them to get at it.

Yeah I can see from the listing and yours should be fine. I was talking about the one in the other link.

Go for a smaller one, especially if you have one cat. Dry food staying for very long in the feeder adsorb water from the air and may start jamming the feeding mechanism. Plus it's likely to attract ants.

      • It comes with compartments for rice bags which do a pretty good job.

    • Was looking at the same one

  • are there any suitable for a big dog?

    • My guess (don't own a dog) is it will depend more on the size of the kibble, and how much the dog eats. It can serve automatically up to 4 times a day. So just a matter of if it can get the food out, and if it can get enough out. In my experience the amazon web store is very responsive, maybe shoot them a message?
