Amazon Shipping Times to Perth from Eastern States Warehouses

Has anyone from Perth noticed that it has become really bad as of late?

Everything is 3 weeks delivery time and it seems quicker to buy Amazon International than from over east.

They're using Aramex now rather than Express Post and I've lost packages.

Back to eBay and Aliexpress it seems.

Update: After the Stat Dec, they have refunded my order. It's the same price on Catch (with OnePass) and I know it's coming by Australia Post, and I can pay an extra $2.00 for Express Post. Just placed my order. Will be looking at Catch more often too.

  • Part of cost saving from Amazon. Aramex probably puts their prices low to get wholesale contract with Amazon.
I think if you have Prime, you still get the better or faster postage. Not that auspost is reliable, it can be frustratingly slow with them at times.

Unfortunately, I have Prime and I'm now getting Aramex

    • Have Prime, just bought a $3000 camera
Sent by Aramex…. not very happy.
The $1400 lens I purchased alongside it was sent via AusPost non-express, currently languishing in a Melbourne warehouse.

  • Havent really read any good things about Aramex ….

  • I think everything across the board is really bad right now. Never used to have issues with Amazon in SE Qld. I don't have stuff delivered to my door so I guess they are using Aust Post and not their own flex drivers. They are consistently late now and I've been facing over 1 week delays with all retailers. Some stuff just sits in the the distribution centre here for over a week and doesn't move.

Yep I've seen deliveries from Aramex and Couriers Please (both delivered from the same van, so probably contractors working in different areas).
Delivery from east coast to Perth is slow (several weeks to a month). Amazon used to be great in terms or one or two day delivery with Prime.
Not sure why (apart from money) Aus Post didnt retain the contract. Aramex used to be Fastway couriers before the rebrand. Still same terrible service, with packages that get lost. There's a reason they have a 1.3 star rating in Google. Disappointing that Amazon went with a courier that has a really bad rep.

I probably knew that Express Post for everything wasn't going to work in the long run, but having to wait 3 weeks for something and have a good chance of it going missing is unacceptable.

There's still a good range of stuff is still available for delivery via Flex from the Perth Warehouse, but it just doesn't make sense that it's quicker to get something from the USA than Melbourne / Sydney.

  • I find here in Perth delivery is often held up in Melbourne storage and is generally there for a week or longer before moving to Perth when orders come from Eastern States. This applies mostly to Australia Post marked orders. Seems to get to storage fairly promptly from suppliers.

  • Generally Amazon delivery times to me in Perth are still great - but they do seem to be a bit more hit and miss than previously.

  • Now they want a f*kin Statutory Declaration for the Aramex package that never was delivered…

  • Not just to Perth even here in regional NSW (3.5 hrs from Sydney) delivery times from Amazon have been terrible.

Aramex is completely useless as they don't deliver here 10 km from town package can end up anywhere sometimes the fuel station 10 mins away sometimes pool shop 30 mins away. The last one ended up the post office.

Don't even know where the latest one is almost 2 weeks in transit Aramex tracking says "Manifested for delivery in regional network" whatever that means. On the other hand Auspost get most standard parcels here in 2-7 days unfortunately Amazon don't seem to be shipping anything with them anymore. Thinking about cancelling prime most retailers and eBay sellers still offer Auspost.

Hopefully things work out this time, eventually Amazon will realise Aramex is a terrible company and will probably cost them in the long run.

  • As someone waiting for Amazon deliveries sent via Aramex, yes Amazon is turning to shit lately. If it's not in the Perth warehouse, they are quoting 3 to 4 weeks delivery ETAs for many items. Meanwhile I'm getting stuff from Aliexpress within 2 weeks.

Before the local warehouse opened, usually everything came via Express Post within a couple of days. Then of course COVID, Express took longer, and they started sending via Parcel Post instead which again took even longer, but was just the way it was. Recently they started sending everything via Express Post and stuff was arriving in a couple of days again, I'm thinking great it's getting back to pre-COVID ways..

Then I start getting stuff sent by Aramex :( Made me laugh though when I checked tracking on Aramex site and they had an ETA of 2 days after it shipped. Of course, nothing came and I looked at a Sorry, parcel delayed message for the next couple of weeks.

Still waiting on another, gone past 2 weeks and getting a bit concerned as tracking shows nothing other than "Consignment Information Submitted" but because it's still within Amazons ETA they just say its ok, it will arrive by then and I doubt there's any point trying to follow up with Aramex.

I did try to ask customer service why delivery ETA's for products I was looking at were so long, as usual don't really get much of an answer but I did also use an example of an order I had cancelled because it was going to take 3 weeks and told them it's quicker to just go to the supermarket and buy the item, they gave me a $10 promo credit "for my inconvenience"

Maybe we should all keep placing orders for long ETA items and cancelling, selecting Item will take too long to arrive as the reason. Surely their system keeps track of these…

Should add, maybe Amazon just jumped the gun for WA customers. There's a new warehouse facility that's gone up in Jandakot. Hoping once it's in operation we'll see a lot less stuff being shipped from eastern states.

  • In Perth here, I've ordered a Prime item on the 7th Nov, according to the tracking it was picked up by Australian Post on the 8th Nov with an estimated delivery of the 1st Dec Item was fulfilled by Amazon. Contacted A. to find out WTF, was told that I should contact the carrier , told them my contract is with you , not the carrier, it's your job to find out . didn't get anywhere , absolutely unacceptable . I was used to Amazon UK where you order stuff at 10pm and it arrives the next day, Amazon AU has got a long way to go

  • It's getting kinda ridiculous now Amazon… the eastern states ETAs I'm seeing are November 30 - January 31..
Who doesn't love ordering something then maybe receiving in 2 days or maybe 2 months..

  • Anything from the eastern states is now showing the 8th March, which is 3 weeks away.

I thought the issue would go away post Christmas peak, but nope.

On the positive side, I'm ordering a lot less than before.

    Even ebay is faster now!
