  • Why not just hook it on the ball?

    • I've always just used the hitch pin, but some people prefer these for whatever reason. I've never damaged a strap or broken a hitch pin (extremely unlikely).

      • I use a hitch pin, if recovery hitch isn't available.
        Never had any issues with using the pin, the recovery hitch is obviously better for the snatch strap, if it's not a direct line pull, as well a seawiet to attach/detach.

    • It is one of the most dangerous things you can do. Tow balls are not designed for this amount of stress. Plenty of examples of people dieing and serious injury’s from a tow ball breaking off.
      I use the hitch pin as well

    • Why not just hook it onto the chassis bracket?

    • Go ahead and try and make a video of it so be added to recovery accidents channel…
