For someone who hasn’t played mtg for 10+ years, what is so special about these? Originally $459 and you only get 4 booster packs??
Oh yeah, you're in for a surprise. These are basically SUPER boosters with guaranteed rare, mythic, foil rare/mythic and "special treated" cards (full art/alt art/special foiling). Plus a bunch of foil common/uncommons.
The set itself, "Double Masters" is basically a collection of a shitload of good-t-busted cards from the game's history, reprinted in this set to make them more available for Modern and Commander. There's a fair bit of chaff in there, but the Expected Value of the boosters is (or was, I haven't checked in a while) more than the cost of the product.
**Edit - If you pull a "Textured Foil Liliana" it goes for about $200USD. An Imperial Seal is $100USD, and theres about 20-30 other 20-50USD cards in the rare or mythic slots. I think you can get up to 4-5 Rare/Mythic's in a pack.

I've opened 2 of these packs so far, and tbh I think this price point is probably the fair amount for these collectors sets anyway - no wonder Gameology hasn't been able to sell them fast enough. First pack I cracked open valued at about $200 total and I had paid $330 for each 4 pack at that time…. The 2nd pack I got a tad more lucky and managed to get one of the Eldrazi and that pack total value ended up around $380. All in all, lost about $80 worth of value by opening both packs I bought originally…
Each booster has 15 cards + token, but 10-12 of the cards tend to be completely worthless foil cards around 25c - 45c. If you watch some YouTube videos about it, the chance of truly rare mythics aren't that great - you will likely get at least one mythic in each 4 pack but doesn't mean it'll be one of the super rare ones worth $150USD+ - afterall, the fact those rarer mythics are hard to be gotten is the reason they are so expensive.
The taxes we pay over here for these imported products makes it much less lucrative compared to buying and opening them in the US - also online card shops like CardTrader just make it way too easy to get the card singles you are after super cheap in bulk orders compared to buying/trading for singles locally over here.
Wasn't worth it for me when I got one for 250 from the eBay plus deal, about 180 of value, seems like a massive gamble
