    they 28's though

    • +1

      Yup they're Kayano 28s

    • +1

Reviews have been complaining about them being advertised as 29’s but sent 28’s for a week yet they still haven’t fixed the description.

  • -1

Yeah absolutely wrong description. 29's at this price would be insane.

    • -1

You called it first and still got downvoted. I don't understand why.

  • also cashrewards at 20% $20 cap avaliable but I personally don't know how to use it.

  • +13

$100 for gel kayanos of any number is a bargain.

  • +2

These are Kayano 28's… not 29's.

Also available from Catch for the same price.
    https://www.catch.com.au/product/asics-mens-gel-kayano-28-ru…

    • +2

Yes, but catch have it only in size 12.

  • Speaking of which, does anybody know who the seller is? I find it hard to believe that any Kayano shoe is $100 brand new and that these are fakes.

    • +2

The seller is Amazon AU. I just raised the description error with their customer service team who are escalating it to get it resolved. If you happy with 28’s then you should be able to trust the seller.

Bought a pair in the same colour a few months ago for $199, now the OzBargainer in me has to get another pair to bring the average down!

  • +4

$85 odd dollars for a pair of Kayanos after cashback. No brainer.

  • It’s clearly 28 in the photo on the tongue

  • +4

Kayano at this price… doesn't matter 28 or 29, after 6 months of jogging will be same worn down. Perfect for this summer runs :) thanks Op.

    • +8

Yeah people are missing the main point, which is that kayanos cost a bunch of money and $100 is a bargain to anybody who loves to go for a jog.

      • Exactly my thoughts. And from experience Kayano last longer in terms of build quality.
Compression slightly better when compared to GTs, but upper mesh much stronger.

        • +2

Yeah I've been wearing kayanos for more than 5 years now - really good shoes… I usually pay 270ish and now whenever I see them for cheap, I buy..

Bought some Nimbus 24s off of iconic the other day for only $120ish and boy do these look and feel better than anything.

          • @BargainHunterJohnnyB: Better than Kayano?

          • +1

@BargainHunterJohnnyB: You can wear both without issue?
They are different shoes for different foot strike and i found the nimbus fine walking but running gave me sore feet.

            • +1

@DarwinBoy: Well I only bought the nimbus to walk and go gym since they are aesthetic af.

              • @BargainHunterJohnnyB: Careful then. Running shoes are not good gym shoes. Their lightness is in part of them having minimal side structure hence why cross trainers are more cumbersome but safer to wear. Also runners have lots of cushioning which means they lack support if you are lifting weight through your legs.
But make fine, if expensive walking shoes

    • 29 is a huge upgrade to the 28 with the rocker and completely revised midsole. Much better for people with a wider forefoot too.

  • +5

After selecting size 9, it was changed to Gel Excite 6……LOL

    • +4

Don't know why you're getting negged for this.

I just bought it, and it is showing as "Gel Excite 6" also for me in the "YOUR ORDERS" section.

    • +4

      same experience here, very dodgy

Everyone should double check on the Amazon website after placing the order!

    • Yeah I got this too.

      • +3

Mine turned up today and they're definitely Kayanos.

  • -1

Are these more cushiony than, say Clifton 8?

    • Assuming they are Kayano 28's, they are noticeably less cushioned than Cliftons. Not sure about 29's, I think they are more cushioned but probably still not as much as Cliftons.

      • Cool, thanks. I have clifton 8 as I couldnt find MaxRoad 5. Happy with them. But need to buy another backup pair.

  • Awesome deal - even with all the confusion.

  • +1

    Thanks. Bought US10

  • +3

I only wear these for running for the past few years and always grab them when on special. My current 28's are on their way out and will add these to my unused 29's. I normally size up with Kayano's for some reason, a good full size over normal, but my usual 11.5US just sold out so picked up 11US instead for $103 less cashback. I'm sure they'll be fine. My normal show size is 10.5US

    • +2

Agreed. I'm normally an 11-11.5 and always get a 12. Owned at least 10 pairs of Kayanos, 3 pairs of GT2000's and 5 pairs of DS-Trainers over the years. Kayano's are more comfortable straight out of the box than GT's and much better for longer runs, GT's are good value, but just have a harsher feel and take a while to become comfortable. DS are for racing, they're light and supportive, but you do feel everything through them. I get about 700-800k out of Kayanos before they feel flat, around 600 out of GT's and the DS's soles wear out after ~400. The OZb tip for Asics is don't be fashion-conscious and you'll always find a bargain with the ugly colours!

  • +5

It is designed for Overpronation. pls check if your foot suits

    • Yep. Special price doesnt help if it gives you sore feet.

  • I wear a 2E size thing in the GT2000's - whatever that means? what would be the equivalent here? a X-Wide?

EDIT: Oh its Wide - just found it on asics website

  • Only sizes 8 & 16 left

  • My favourite runners! Got a second pair to put away for next year

  • +2

Nice Deal! But Amazon just jack up the price now.

  • +1

Price appears back up. Not many sizes left.

  • -7

why did you link to the pink ones lol

    men =/= pink

    • -1

Because this colour is the only one at this discounted price.
Also, Pink =/= Men is a yesteryear mentality. I doubt that many people from X, Y, Z gen agree with this. This idea that a colour is associated with a gender died with when we opposed white supremacy and it's ideals.

  • Pity there was no wide options at this price, unless they already sold

  • +2

Do we still qualify for cashback if the item is 'Temporarily out of stock'?.

  • +2

Received mine today (same day delivery)
I'm impressed. Haven't tried any recent Asics runners but these are really comfortable and light.

    • Do yours show up as Kayanos in your order history or Gel Excite as per some of the posts above?

      • Shows as men's Asics shoes. Image shows the Kayano 28 in the colour chosen.

      • mine arrived too

the order history shows Gel-Kayano 28
