    Buffet Serum 30ml $16.44

    Good deal for Warren.

    • Maybe Berkshire Hathaway is an investor.

  • +39

So this isn't a potion that provides one with extra stomach capacity when eating at a buffet?

  • Scrolled too fast and thought it was butt serum…

Got me excited for a sec

    • Here is MIC, tell me your story.

    • +1

I mean it can be if you want to use it there…

      Targets: …Signs of Aging, Dryness
      Suited to: All Skin Types

  • Good stuff. Cheers OP!

  • +5

Nice. I need a new moisturiser too.

    Highly rate their skincare products.

  • I always think about starting a skin care regimen, but I have a long beard, and I don't want to get all the cream and crap in it…

    • +1

You'd be surprised at how many non-cream options are available - this stuff is more like a watery gel that doesn't get too stuck in a beard.

    • -1

Serums are more like finishers in skin care. Don't have to put in in beard but they don't have any problems with mine anyway.

      • +5

Not sure what you mean by 'finishers' but serums sit between your cleansing step and your moisturiser, somewhere in the middle.

    • You can filter products by gel, oil, watery or creamy

  • +7

Still infuriating that we can't get the AHA 30% solution. This country really is a nanny state at times.

    • I know right! Been wanting to get my hand on that! Guess I will just have to purchase it when travelling overseas.

    • +2

You can get AHA 30% from SpaceNK in the UK (some things aren’t permitted to be sent to Australia but this is): https://www.spacenk.com/global/skincare/treatment/peels/aha-…

Free shipping over $75 and most things are cheaper (sometimes a lot cheaper) than in Aus.

      • +1

Hard part is, how do we know it is not fake? Didnt Priceline sell fake ones at one stage not realising?

        • +1

SpaceNK is reputable - I've spent far too much money there and all the products have been genuine (as far as I can tell).

        • +1

Yeah, four of their franchises purchased it from outside of their permitted channels and it turned out to be fake. I think they were selling knock off AHA 30% which was a bit of a giveaway.

      • Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    • +3

I get mine from Cult Beauty UK

      • +1

yep or from Asos, have been buying from these two companies for years now.

  • -2

Serum of Warren Buffet? That's definitely a bargain.

  • +6

what can i buy for 48c to get free shipping? do they sell red frogs?

  • +3

Wish the copper peptides version was discounted.

    • +1

Me too. Who knows, maybe they'll be changing the name of that next

      • Is the copper buffet much better? I'm using that now but bought a couple of these for a change… besides… $50 :(

        • Copper peptides target fine lines and firmness etc. So if you're young, you probably don't need it.

          • @moocher: Certainly not young! Need all the help I can get! Still good to swap things around a bit…

  • You can't use this with Vitamin A I believe? And/or acids? Am I right?

    • +2

You can use it with retinol. It doesn't contain copper peptide.

      Do not use with
      Direct Acids
      Direct Vitamin C
      Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid
      Salicylic Acid

      Or from their regimen guide:

      Conflicts:
Products containing Direct Acids, pure Vitamin C (LAA/ELAA), Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%.

      • What does direct vitamin C mean?
So I can still use with product that contains abit of vitamin C?

        • +3

Direct Vitamin C is referring to products containing pure forms of Vitamin C i.e. L-ascorbic acid or ethylated L-ascorbic acid.

Many products claim to have 'Vitamin C' but are actually other derivatives (like Ascorbyl glucoside, Sodium Ascorbyl Phospate etc) or even just natural extracts like Kakadu plum.

          • @moocher: Vitamin C gave me pimples!

I like Vitamin A, I notice a difference but the product I have is oil based and makes me skin feel oily.

Ive used this before, didn't notice much but for the price I will grab a 60ml + a 30ml!

I think i actually bought a different version of Vitamin C from the company which is okay to use, as i was playing around but i realised as a bloke just using basic skin care is better for me. The more i put on, the more i get pimples.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Which Vit C product did you use? A lot depends on the formula, it could be something else that caused it rather than the active ingredient for example, the base - in silicone? propanediol? The Ordinary alone makes 8 different Vit C products

LAA/ELAA can cause irritation but I haven't heard of it directly causing pimples before.

      • +1

I use tretinoin. 1000 times potent than retinol

But you have to try and convince a GP to prescribe it for you

        • Yeah, another issue lol

        • Any tips? My GP said I'm too young.

          • @anastasiastarz: Really. How can you be too young if your prone to acne.

Unless you told him you want to use it as an anti ageing medication?

          • @anastasiastarz: Getting 5 tubes from dubai tomorrow , asked my freind to buy for me, equivelant to $10 a tube. Its over the counter in UAE

      • Is it better to use Buffet before or after The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane? I think Buffet goes before Retinoid?
        https://www.adorebeauty.com.au/the-ordinary/the-ordinary-gra…

        • +3

Before. Buffet is water-based and will absorb nicely. Squalane is oily and sits on your skin a bit.

  • +1

I rate the silicon primer and the full coverage foundation. So good.

  • +1

gosh.. they need to find someone better to name their products. Most of the product's names are misleading. buffet serum :-|

    • +1

Now with 5% extract of Warren

    Price matched at myer
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/46868/98761/20221013_1…

Paid $9.52 from discounted gift card
$20 for the 2 x $10 reward vouchers they sent me (glad i waited last day of expiry)

    • Tried doing that today at Myer Bourke St, the salesperson at The Ordinary flat out say she can't do it even though I told her that the price match was done by someone yesterday.

Seems like a few people tried this cause I asked "can I do a price match", and she just said "for the buffet? Yeah no".

Didn't want to bother argue with her and just left since her attitude was a bit meh.

      • +3

They initially said no to me so i googled myer price match policy, showed it yo her and insisted she honor it

        • Oh interesting! LOL, she was very like "YEAH NAH" in my face. And I ceebs dealing with that attitude ha!

See if I can be bothered going back and say, yes you have to price match based on the Myer Price Match Policy.

          Thanks! :D

      • +2

I was at Myer Bourke St yesterday around 4:30PM and the girl at the counter knew of the promotion but wasn’t sure if they can price match. Said she needed to check with the team leader. Came back happily telling me that they can match. They only had 30ml in stock though so I ended up paying $6 with a $10 birthday voucher.

    • No luck at Myer Perth city. Tried to show that another person has successfully price matched, showed the policy, but she chased around a few managers (insisted she didn’t have authority to authorise the price match herself) and the higher ups said they couldn’t as the discounted price is below their cost price (per policy).

  • +1

Thanks OP! One of my favourite products

  • -4

I thought this is a buffet deal $16 for kids $29 for adults

  • Cheers OP, was waiting for this one

  • Does anyone know where is the shop (instore) in sydney? TIA

    • They used to have a store in the Rocks but that looks like it's permamently closed, I only just realised while searching for the address

    • I guess the email must have been a generic global one, since there are no physical stores in Australia now as far as I can tell.

Sale only available at TheOrdinary.com and at standalone DECIEM stores, while supplies last. No code needed.

      • Thanksss!

  • What are they changing it to? Not a regular user but would be good to know so I dont get confused.

    • +2

they are renaming it to "Multi-Peptide + HA Serum"

      • -2

is that what the cronulla sharks use?

  • I recommend the no-brainer set if you're starting to see signs of ageing.
The set includes Buffet but it always ran out first because I use it twice a day whereas the other one - just at night.
Great deal for me. Thanks OP!

    • +1

The no brainer set was $40 at myers a few weeks ago.

Got one for free with the $20 we miss you and 2 x $10 vouchers

I have over $300 of the ordinary products from these vouchers, should last me 2 years

      • Nice!
How do you get these vouchers?

  • +2

If you're using NIOD, they're 35% off at lookfantasitc rignt now, better than the November sale.

  • so what is this serum good for?

    • I find it's good as an anti-aging serum and protect skin from dryness.

    • war. hoo! ha!

  • -1

Is it only effective on women? Or men can use it as well??

    • -3

      Only if you are metrosexual

    • +3

I am a man and use it almost every day.

      • Do you find it effective bro?? And did you see any change?

        • +3

I find my skin is softer, not dry, and reduced fine wrinkles. :)

          • @AnKu: Thanks mate. Will it help with crow feets near the eyes? And cam i use this with Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG at the same time.

            • @kingkhan1990: Dunno about that, but I always have fine wrinkles around my eyes when I smile, so I won't really bother about that. I use it together with Caffeine Solution 5% which I find is not effective (but maybe because I often stay up late lol).

Don't forget to wash your face first by using toner/cleanser for better absorption. So cleanser > buffet > caffeine.

              • @AnKu: Haha how long you have been using caffeine solution 5%?? Is there any other product of ordinary which is effective? And any other product for dark circles?. Thanks bro

  • Thanks OP purchased as well as some hyaluronic acid

  • Went to the The Ordinary section at Myer Pitt St Sydney, lady said the deal is online only so they can't do the price match. Guess I'll just get 2 and gift one away (or use it whenever I get to it!)

    • Hey, @easternculture responded to that - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12803876/redir

That's a Myer Price Match Policy, it did state "If a competitor, being another Australian retail store, is offering a cheaper price on a product on an exact like-for-like basis, in its store or on its Australian website, Myer may Price Match if:"

"ON ITS AUSTRALIAN WEBSITE", so surely they have to honour it if it's there to begin with.

      • Oh, it's just that on the policy website it also says

Myer will not match the competitor's price if:
        - sourced from an online website that does not have a physical retail store in Australia
        - The price is: an Online Only offer

and all those points are true, even I can't think of a way of arguing against that, even though one person was successful.

Ah well, I just wanted to use the spend $50 get $10 back offer from amex, otherwise not much money lost by ordering through the official site

  • Anything else worthwhile on sale here?
I know nothing about serums, but keen to try.
Normal oily skin, no blemishes, either for morning or night routines.

    • +4

If you can wait you may wanna wait til Black Friday or last year they had 23% off everything on The Ordinary website for whole November. Even not, ASOS and look fantastic have some 20% off promotion regularly where you can buy The ordinary products

      • Wonderful, thank you!

  • Deal was prematurely expired, sale finishes at 3pm EADT.

    • Pretty sure they will come back with 50% or even more with remaining stock
