That is my wedding song, haven't told my wife where I first heard it.

I have fond memories of playing Fallout 3. Would love it on the Switch.

    Fallout 3? Not bad.

Suprised to see FO3 here, great title!

  • Hopefully this version of fallout 3 actually works on windows 10-11 (gog does, steam has been hit and miss). Good times if so

I remember when I came back to the game after taking a long break from playing it, it suddenly wouldn’t load. Drove me nuts trying to figure out why as I hadn’t done anything major to my computer, for some reason the game just wouldn’t run and would crash immediately after opening it.

Then one day I realised it was the GPU software causing it to crash, some sort of Gigabyte desktop overclocking software that I was using was somehow preventing it from running. After I disabled that the game would run with no issues at all.

Fallout 3 GOTY, now that's a good deal!

  • Evoland is a right nice romp through video game history, style and genres - had lots of fun with this one.

I might get around to HL2 next year…

I pretty much follow the 5 year delay in the gaming cycle. Optimal experience with Cheaper hardware and software, and less game breaking bugs and issues . Just acquired an Xbox One so I should be good for the next decade 😂

Played a modded New Vegas last year. The experience holds up. I will probably do the same with this release.

Evoland is great, if you haven't played make sure to give it a try

Epic is giving out some great games that I will never play

  • Finally, get to play Fallout, haven't played any of the main games. Only Shelter phone game.

Gotta to get mods for it, greatly improves the experience.

      Use Nexus mods and get:

      • Fallout Anniversary Patcher (Edit)
      • Fallout Mod Manager (To install mods with)
      • Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch (Fixes thousands of bugs)
      • Fallout Stutter Remover (Improves performance)
      • Rogue Hallow’s Iron Sights (Can aim while shooting)
      • Fallout 3 Redesigned (Faces don't look like shit)
      • NMC’s Texture Pack (Improved textures that look mostly like the original)
      • Better High Detail Map and Icons (Map looks really nice)
      • Hi-Res Weapons (Guns in the hand don't look like a blur)
      • Fallout 3 Reanimated (Characters hold guns believably)

Not a massive overhaul, you'll still get a close to vanilla gaming experience with some of the worst aspects removed.

MVP right here. Can you remind me of this stuff when I get around to playing the game in about 2027?

      • Gotta go fast.

What about all the anime girl and sex mods?

Also unless one of those mods adds it also, you still need the 4GB patcher to use more than 2GB ram and not crash.

        • Haha, not those thanks.

Good point about the 4GB patch, as Epic uses the latest version of Fallout 3 (1.7.0.4) that has Games for Windows removed, it causes problems with mods, got to use the Fallout Anniversary Patcher that downgrades the executable to 1.7.0.3 for FOSE compatibility, automatically runs FOSE if there, adds 4GB support, improves mod limit fix, stops Intel GPU crash, and re-adds the GFWL removal. So that is an instant mod.

So I just did some looking into this and checked by installing FO3. The Epic FO3 version is an insane 43GB download, same as the Microsoft store while both Steam and GoG are both 8.7GB in size. So it seems Epic and MS store will download the game 5 times, for each of the 5 languages it supports. Seems like buying it on Steam or GoG will save some serious headaches because you may delete the non-English versions and then need to verify some files and re-download them all.

How many copies am I going to own of Fallout 3? Lol.
    - PlayStation 3 (base game)
    - PlayStation 3 (GOTY)
    - PC (Steam, GOTY)
    - PC (Disc, GOTY) Part of the Anthology with the Mini Nuke.

    And now on Epic.

  • Very positively rated Steam game is one of the freebies for next week.

  • Integrated GPUs not supported

    • What CPU are you using? Intel or AMD?
