Outdoor Bar Fridge or Indoor Fridge, for Drinks?

Looking to get a drinks fridge for the patio and need some user experience with outdoor bar fridges. Located in Perth and wary that 40+ degree days will give any fridge a hard go and will hurt the back pocket.
Are they reliable, are they noisy, do they cool the beers enough?
Or do I just get another indoor fridge?
Any recommendations appreciated!

  • When you say for the patio, do you mean under cover, out of direct sun and rain?

    • Yeh, would be against the house and well protected.

I use an indoor bar fridge outside. It’s up against the house and sheltered from the weather/sun. No issues in 2 years so far( purchased the fridge new).

We have an indoor bar fridge under cover and sheltered from the sun.

We use it for beverages and dog food.

It has survived 2C through to 46C and floods.

I wouldn't do it but a mate does on the gold coast similar weather as Perth
White seals go spotty black growth in general around door opening outside of fridge and looks unappealing.yet the indoor fridge looks fine.

What ever life expectancy you have from a fridge speed it up by 3 (minimum) in cleaning and in death

  • The real cheapskate move would be to get a chest freezer and modify it so it only reaches fridge temperatures, it's meant to be much more efficient than a regular fridge because the sides are al fully insulated even when you open it.

  • Camp fridge.

  • Use the river at the back of your property as your fridge :p
