    Contains yaks?

    • +1

Some beers use isinglass (fish guts) or gelatin to fine the product. Others may contain lactose or whey from their production (sours, some stouts, etc).

Vegan or not, I'd prefer fish guts and pig hooves to not be an ingredient in my beer, but maybe thats just me.

Also - this may be incorrect as per "All CUB beers are vegan suitable as no animal derived ingredients are used in the production of our beers; the only exception is Matilda Bay Beez Neez which contains honey."

Well I've learnt something new today.

Just read that vegans generally avoid honey because they feel that the bees are being exploited.

        • +1

honey is a touchy topic in the vegan community, as is ethically sourced eggs

          • @nmachine: And increasingly almonds (often involves manipulating bees for pollination).

            • @chewbot: Commercial pollination is used in all sorts of industries, but tends to get conveniently ignored.

  • vegan? pls

  • Not the first time at this price. It's actually pretty good - nice fruity taste. But I'm not a massive beer snob or a big drinker so your milage may vary

  • May as well for $1.65 a bottle

      Are you from Oodnadatta ?

  • Up until a day or so they were selling this at Dans for $36 or $39 a case for several weeks I assume as an intro price . It’s reverted to $50 now

  • A 6 pack for about the same is much better to test it out

  • Also picked up a $10 6 pack at BWS near me. Very drinkable, got a bit more flavour than most summery type largers. Will grab a case next time.

  • First taste was not great but it grew on me. Seems to be better if not too chilled?

I got a carton of this for $37 at bws a few weeks ago (still shows at this price for rewards members but not much stock anywhere in Adelaide) and was happy with the flavour. Don't think I'd pay full price for it but at $10 a six pack is good value.

Youtube review - good for a laugh.
"Just boring… you wait for something to happen, but nothing happens… no actual flavour"

    • +1

All Mathilda Bay products are watered down cat piss since CUB took it over, the only things they do well are Melb & Vic Bitter.

      • Fat Yak has more character than the Cracka. The blue one, Pacific or Wild Yak isnt too bad either. Cracka definitely the blandest of that bunch which is why I thought it was cheaper.

  • $10 for a 6 pack at BWS or $37 for a case in NSW

  • $35.55 a case at Dan Murphy’s in Sydney. Best before Jan 23 so obviously trying to clear them. Not the best.. but ok for the price.
