Reason: Unobtainable deal. The deal was posted with the incorrect assumption that the offer gave the customer instant Platinum Elite status. 5 nights stay is required before the Platinum Elite Status upgrade is granted.

Once a member registers for the Promotion, the member will be able to earn IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status, and start enjoying the associated benefits, by staying just five (5) qualifying nights at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts during the Promotion Period. The member will first be able to earn Gold Elite status (until 23 December 2023) by completing two (2) qualifying nights within the Promotion Period. The member will then be able to reach Platinum Elite status (until 31 December 2023) by staying another three (3) qualifying nights during the Promotion Period.

This offer gives you instant Platinum Elite Status with IHG, and the opportunity to continue Elite status next year if you stay 2-5 nights by 31 December 2022.

If you missed the Diamond Status offer, this is a little consolation prize. Also, this one is widely promoted, whereas the Diamond one was meant to be targeted, and might be revoked?

Even if you did score the DIamond Status offer, this one might be worth stacking anyway. Assuming they stack, combining these two gives you more achievable tiers below 10 nights to continue an Elite status next year:

  • Stay 2 nights to earn Gold Elite status until December 2023 (this fast track offer)
  • Stay 5 nights to earn Platinum Elite status until December 2023 (this fast track offer)
  • Stay 10 nights to keep Diamond Elite status until December 2023 (the Diamond Status offer)

      Very much depending on location. In Canberra, for instance, they only have Crown casino hotel, while Accor has at least a dozen of hotels to choose from.

    This is not instant offer. After we register, if we stay 2 nights, we can get Gold and then if we stay 3 nights, we can get Platinum.

    Registered for this offer, got the confirmation email. But the current status is still Club Member instead of Platinum.

      NO. To get Platinum Elite, you need total 5 nights. Read T&C. You need to be Gold Elite for first 2 nights and then you need additional 3 nights to get Platinum Elite.

          You might be right, I might've been mistaken when I read it as instant Platinum. I couldn't see that since I already took up the Diamond offer and my status stayed as Diamond.

          Sorry, this makes the offer a lot less attractive on its own!

      Assuming it works the same as the Diamond Offer yesterday, you do get the Elite status for the rest of the year instantly.

      What the 5 nights thing is, if you stay 5 nights by the end of 2022 your Elite status carries over through 2023 (otherwise you will lose it end of this year). Whether its worth it or not is up to you. If you happen to be going on a trip its a nice perk.

        They are for sure. But I don't thing we are getting it. Without logging in I was getting the same price with breakfast as the one after logging in with Diamond status. There was nothing extra.

          Look at both rates; with breakfast and without breakfast.
          The rate with breakfast is much higher than the rate without breakfast.
          For example, Intercontinental Jimbaran. lowest room rate is AU$345 per night without breakfast and $399 per night with breakfast.

        For free room upgrade, it's subject to availability. When you check in, if room is available, the will provide upgrade room.
        For free breakfast, you can book the room without breakfast. They will provide free breakfast for two.

            @amsaini15: I've already heard many feedback from some people who are staying now. Once they registered Diamond, they asked the front desk. The front updated their info and offered breakfast. But, do not book non-refundable as this offer was targeted, so IHG may cancel your account.

    Where does it say it gives you instant Platinum? The wording is that you have to stay the 5 nights to get Platinum until end of 2023. Not instant. Fast tracked… still not instant tho.

    You will automatically get IHG Diamond until 12/31/2022, stay 10 or more nights before 12/31/2022 and you can get the Diamond status until 12/31/2023.

    Has anyone stayed 10 days since signing up and gotten their diamond status extended to end of 2023 already? I ask because although I was converted to diamond via the deal I can't find anywhere in my account that mentions fast track and I have 10 days stay coming up. ie. under "current status" I am 10/70 nights to diamond (I stayed 10 nights earlier in the year).
