Cashrewards Store (Dokodemo) Declined Cashback despite Confirmation Email

Edit:

The issue is now resolved favourably with the prompt assistance from TA.
Thank you all.

Edit:

Thanks for all of your prompt responses. I will sort this out with Cashrewards representative.
I must say I get more helpful and quicker responses from Ozbargain. Thank you all.

Anyone has the issues with Cashrewards cashback credit?

I clicked through Cashrewards to make an online purchase and received a confirmation email from Cashrewards.
The purchase was completed and goods received.
I will need to wait for 95 days for the cashback from Cashrewards.

About one month after the purchase, Cashrewards declined the cashback.

I made an inquiry with evidence of payment and order details, PLUS the Cashrewards confirmation email.

They reply "Thanks a lot for your response, and I'm really sorry to hear that you did not get cashback for this purchase.

I'd like to note that Cashrewards is only a referral service and does not make final decisions on tracking and cookie issues that determine if a transaction is approved or not.

Transactions can be declined for multiple reasons, and it is common for stores to decline transactions based on tracking, cookie, and internet issues. While it is understandably disappointing, we need to advise you that Cashrewars cannot guarantee cashback as this is always a store decision and this store has declined to make any further cashback payment.

Thanks for your understanding and if you have any questions, please feel free to get back to us."

I did get back to them. They do not reply.

Have you spoken to the Cashrewards rep here (tightarse)? I've always found tightarse more than helpful when I have had any issues with Cashrewards.

    • thanks. will do it now.

It depends what store you’re taking about. I’ve had no end of trouble with a particular store, so just stopped shopping there. It’s not Cashrewards fault and they don’t get any income from the transaction either. Punish the store, not Cashrewards by voting with your wallet and not shopping there.

Cashrewards shouldn't partner with stores like that as it just drags down their reputation

I think TA might be about to help - I've also had some poor interactions with the first line reps where they paste a generic response with no way of escalation or delving further.

I'm waiting on an investigation into a $55 Optus CR cashback that's about to reach 90 days of "investigation" and no word yet and I'm dreading having to reach out again.

So true… Sometimes it doesn't even match the initial enquiry…

  • Which store? Did you do any kind of return or pay by giftcard? Those are the first things to check.

Rare to have it turned down for no apparent reason but it happens.

    • DOKODEMO. All goods received. did not return. did not request refund. pay by PayPal. transaction completed with no issue. the only issue is Cashrewards now refuse to cashback

Please PM me and I'll look into this for you. Note that even though you receive a tracking email, the terms of the offer/store still need to be abided by. Just as an example, Menulog and New Balance (and a heap others I can't recall right now) will track your purchase, but they will decline the transaction at reconciliation time if you used an unlisted code. Other examples are exchanges & cancellations, SIMs not activated, separate transactions off a single click, fraudulent activity, payment with gift cards, Cashrewards not last click (some stores will track to all publishers that clicked, then decline the ones that weren't last click - crazy I know) - and the list goes on. We're at the mercy of the stores - they're solely responsible for approving & declining transactions, and when members complain, we unfortunately look like the bad guys. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks.

    • thanks. PM sent

  • Just wanted to share that I got a tracked purchase that got declined. It was a myer purchase.

I contacted CR, and got a response saying that the store (Myer) declined the cashback. It was in the terms and conditions that other codes or coupons mustn't be used. I didn't recall anything but reviewed my purchase. Turns out, part of the reason we bought the item was that it had a special deal offered to myer card holders. It was then determined that this special deal constitutes "other codes or coupons"

Bit of a shame, but I can't really fault CR for it.

Very unlikely to be a CR issue. It'll be the shop.

Lenovo is a key culprit, I swear they reject every purchase I make. BS excuses like invoice date is different than payment date, invoice amount doesn't match. Always end up getting it in the end. At least CR make it easier to go through the motions than a particular competitor of theirs…
