Nvidia 'Unlaunches' RTX 4080 12GB

Nvidia officially 'unlaunched' their 12GB model for their new RTX 4080 in a very abrupt, wierd way especially when looking at what they relased on their website.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/news/12gb-4080-unlaunch…
Also already removed all traced of the 4080 12GB from their website
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/compare/

Considering it was probably going to sell for $2000 for a good card thats 10-15% faster than a 3080 its no wonder they cancelled it.

Very very strangely worded piece. Pretty clear it'll just be rebadged as something else, probably RTX 4070 Ti.

    • And the price will be the same still

Gamers nexus were told that there would be a drop in price

  • guarantee this is due to causing issues with their price scaling and nothing to do with feedback.

It was an insult they thought pc gamers would fall that shit. The 12gb is closer to what a 4060ti should of been . The 16gb should of been a 4070ti…its so heavily gimped compared to the 4090. The 4080 is laughable at the current msrp.. 4080 is roughly around 40-50 percent uplift over the 3080 but with a cost increase of over 70 percent. Horrible pricing, it should of been $899 usd or at the absolute most $999 usd.
I can see Amd pricing their 7900xt at the same msrp if the 4080 and shitting all over it in raster and being close on ray tracing…it will make the 4080 look ridiculous and surely they'll have to drop the price. Be interesting to see what happens and I'd definitely wait to see what AMD does before buying

  • Bookmarked,.. thanks OP

The RTX 4080 12GB is a fantastic graphics card, but it’s not named right. Having two GPUs with the 4080 designation is confusing.

LOL, everyone knew this from the moment it was announced.
    At least they actually listened.
