How Long Does an International Money Transfer Take?

I made an international transfer last Thursday, the payee bank is HSBC (Singapore), a business  account.

My bank is HSBC( Australia) , so I thought it would make  this transfer easier.

I sent a screenshot of the transaction confirmation, the payee confirmed their account details were all correct.

But after 10 days, the payee informed me that they still had not received the money.

I called  my bank HSBC, they confirmed that the transfer has been successful as the money has already left my account and has not been returned.

What should I do now? Please give me some advice.

Im better OP….. You can keep your personal info.
Just send me the money and ill find out for you

  • I transfer money via Wise, apart from it only cost around 0.5% total, it gets to a US seller for 23 business hours. UK transfer is instant.

The old tt transfer maybe around 3-4 business days, not sure if they still charge the sending and receiving fees and even it's free, it may cost 2% spread on rates.

  • Recheck the details of the destination account. I make international transfers to an unconnected bank in Indonesia. The money usually arrives in 3 to 4 business days.

  • could the payee be lying to you?

This is where Bitcoin might have been useful.

It's just the KYC setup with exchanges at both ends that will cause hiccups if both parties are not prepared.

  • In my experience HSBC transfers to another HSBC account overseas are near instant.

Just give the receiver the transfer ref number and say to sort it out locally as your HSBC has informed you that the transfer was successful.
