Raco 3-Piece Saucepan Set - 9X Tougher Series - $59.95 + $9.95 Delivery ($0 with $120 Order) @ Cookware Brands

20

This 3 piece Raco 9x Tougher saucepan set has been this price a couple of times before.

Although it's called 9x Tougher, it isnt as durable as their stoneware range.

Strangely the saucepan sizes aren't listed on the web site or on Raco's site.

I am assuming it's 2 tiny ones and one either 18cm or 20cm.

  • I love teflon frying pans, but what is the point of teflon saucepans? Steel seems to work fine for sauces, vegetables, etc.
The downside of teflon is obvious from the way they yell how tough it is. It isn't :-)

I tried google but failed. Anyone?

non-stick stuff for saucepans are great for food that are very starchy or have a higher level of sugar in it.

    • I find the stainless saucepans (and frypans) tend to be less forgiving if you ever burn anything on.

The problem with Teflon etc is that it doesnt handle the dishwasher so well and really isn't very scratch/bump resistant.

      • with non-sticks, it's one of those things you could handwash easily as everything slides off, so you can occasionally use it for dishwasher. However not all non-sticks are made the same, I've used some good ones that i can chuck in a dishwasher everyday.

also with stainless steel material, you can still burn stew at the bottom if it is too starchy (eg potato & onions) and you don't stir it.

yeah , if you tried emptying a can of baked beans on a stainless steel pot and try heating it up , you would quickly find out how much attention you need to give it to stop it from burning.
