Handbag, Jewellry and Other Gifts Recomendations for Ladies/Women

Hello Oz people,

UPDATE: Sorry should have mentioned I am in australia but my fiancee is in India. I know its every one has different taste but these are gifts I can take your reccomendations and update them with talk with my fiancee.

I would love reccomendations

I wish to gift my fiancée handbags, Jewellery and cosmetics.

Googling down the tiktok reccomendations or google reviews is just a rabbit hole, I spent 3 hours just on cleanser.

Thought of getting Louis vutton handbag but lets just say not everywhere across the globe people care or know about the luxury brands to justify the costs.

So ON a Mid Budget

Cosmetics I am thinking $400 altogether but have leeway till $450
Jewellry: $900-$1000
Handbags:$600-$800 for 2
Anymoney saved from either of the budgets will be adjusted to another if need be.

Cosmetics: she has sensitive skin type
I am thinking of Getting the entire Cerave line cause of reviews and whatever on the list there company makes but if anyone has reccomendations for any of these products I could use the help.
CLEANSER,TONER, SERUM, EYE CREAM, MOISTURIZER, SUNSCREEN,Primer & Color Corrector, Foundation, Concealer, Blush, Bronzer, Highlighter, Eyeshadow, Eyeliner ,Mascara, Eyebrows, Lips, Setting Spray or Powder, Perfumes etc. i have no idea what else like brushes etc i need to buy in a makeup kit.

Handbags:

I wish to purchase 2-3 Hand bags I am thinking Coach but I have no idea of products or quality in this area, online research is again a rabbit hole.

Jewllery:

I was looking to get the Swarvoski tennis necklace design and to go to the parramatta store to take a look at the design of what to buy but micheal hill has a silver diamond necklace in the same price range so a bit confused. please advise what to do.

I looked into mossanite ring but is thr a difference in price at that level or if any other reccomendations I wouuld gladly take it.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you and have a great time

Why don't you take your fiancée with you when you go shopping for the items?

Can you please be more specific on budget? Are we talking $100 or $500 or $1000? This will really help you get better advice.

Generally I would say never ever buy a woman skincare or makeup unless they have told you exactly what to get. Women are very particular about this stuff. Too risky.

A handbag is also a bit risky unless you are sure you know her style. It would be important to choose a place where they would be happy to exchange for a different item (and to let her know that you’re happy if she want to change it!). Coach is a nice mid tier brand though. Also MIMCO, Oroton, Kate Spade and Michael Kors. Unless your girl is designer obsessed many women would be happy to get a bag from those options.

Don’t buy jewelry from Michael Hill. It’s terrible quality and you are overpaying massively for what you do get. I would go to Tiffany’s and buy the best you can afford in your budget. Even just some simple silver earrings you should be able to get for less than $1k. I’d say this is one of the best gift pathway options. Most women will be thrilled to get anything from there. Try to pick a classic simple design that won’t date. The store staff should be able to advise.

Swarovski is costume Jewellery. It’s kind of fun if you are into that stuff but again, very marked up and honestly I don’t think it’s worth it.

Other ideas - sometimes and experience is actually a better idea than a physical gift. Maybe a small weekend away or day trip that you’ve planned out from morning to night. Stop off at places with a special view, organise a catered picnic box, massages, wine tasting etc

    • Thank you soo much for sharing those brands atleast Now i know from which to choose. I have bought $30000 worth of 22K-24K Gold Jewllery for her already as wedding jewllery but these brands have made their name so yeahh, i am kind of stuck in that sort of things. it looks good and thats about it.

We have a honeymoon booked so no problem in that.

Advice: never buy women anything unless they've held it up in front of your face while shopping and said 'oh hun, its a pity i cant afford this… sigh'

Or check her online wish lists. Or ask her. Or take her shopping.

Would rather go shopping with my partner and get what i want than have to feign interest in a poorly chosen gift. 🤷‍♀️

    • I completely agree but then again I have no choice since we are world apart, she being in india and me being in sydney. Should have mentioned this before. sorry

The internet exists. So does the phone. Ask her.

If it were me, id love to hear this:

I miss you and id love to get you something special but i need help! Maybe if i had 5 things youve been looking out for, i could choose something i know youll love.

Me, id be all damn, i want this, this, this and this in this colour 😍 🤣

        • She will be given the link to iconic to choose products or direct from the company site. i just needed to know the brands. links will ofrcourse be sent. if you have any brands would love to hear about them. Thank you for your comment and have a great evening.

While CeraVe is good skincare, best to ask her what concerns she has regarding her skin. Also does your fiancée even wear makeup? Or require toner? I don't use toner (but sunscreen is a must)

As pretty much every comment before mine says, talk to her to see what she wants with everything you want to buy her before actually buying.

    • I have literally no idea what a toner is, she has a sensitive skin type so i was just gonna see what companys toner has good reviews. Sunscreen is ofcourse a must. would you recommend a brand for that?
      Thank you

        La Roche Posay for sunscreen

        • Thank you for your recommendation.

Pretty much echoing what everyone has said, unless you're very sure of her style it may be best to have a talk with her to ascertain what she wants. Perhaps I'm picky but I'd rather money not wasted on things that aren't exactly what I want. My husband now knows to check with me first if he sees something I might want, or at the very least make sure they have good returns policies.

    • I agree with you, I will cross check the products i choose with her before purchase. Thank you so much for your comment and if you have any recommendations i would love that as well. thank you.

      • Is your fiancée into gaming at all? If so, I recommend that you stick to buying stuff that you know about, like gaming gifts.

  • Bootega or birkin is pretty popular with ladies. Don't know about others.

I would avoid getting any skincare /cosmetics unless she has mentioned it before, or is a very popular limited edition type. While cerave is good, it's not exciting. Skincare can be very personal.

    • Thats what i said but you cannot win war of the words from you beloved one.

      • So she said she wanted surprise skin care and cosmetic products??

  • *starts reading *

    Cosmetics: $400 - $450
    Jewellry: $900 - $1000
    Handbags: $600 - $800 for 2
    …total: $1,900 to $2,300 !!!

Here's what I think you should do:
    1 - go to K-Mart.
    2 - buy two $100 handbag
    3 - buy a $40 jewellery
    4 - buy a $60 cosmetic kit
5 - goto your Bank and withdraw $1500
6 - place the money and items in the handbag
7 - give that handbag with the money as a gift, she will like the thought/gesture, and she will appreciate that you gave her all that money so she can spend it on the items she really likes
8 - if you were paying attention, i saved you $100, it's upto you if you want to buy me a beer or donate those proceedings to a charity. Your wellcum.

    • I offered $4000 for making purchases in India but it is what it is and hence i have come to accept that. thank you for your comment, have a great evening

Have you actually met your fiancee?

    • Ofcourse.

      • Is she real? Like really real. Not just internet real?

  • +2

Please do not buy any of these things without her input or it will be very likely that she may not use them due to personal preferences. My husband still gets my input when it comes to bags and jewellery and we’ve been married for over 15 years. Also $450 on cosmetics, depending on what brand u buy might not get you much at all for skincare and makeup.

Personally save the money and spend it with her when she is physically with you. You’ve gifted her with $30k of gold already so I think that should suffice for now.

    • Jewellery gifts can be ignored but I just wanted brand names and then links will be forwarded for her choices and input.

I just did not have the greasp of what brand is considered cheap, mid tier, expensive or which company actually makes good cosmetic products.

Thank you for your comment and have a great evening.

      • If your fiancee needs trinkets, that's the definition of cheap

  • OMG that is such a different world than where I am from! Gifts that price and gold jewellery worth 300k+, …
I would definitely go with experiences, book a nice cruise or a romantic picnic with a helicopter to an exotic location,…. redeemable when you meet :)
Buy jewellery, handbags, lingerie and makeup when you are with her one day.
Wish I had a spare $1K for a gift to my loved one :)

    • Gold jewellry is worth only 30K and an additional 20K worth would be given after marriage on reception.
Experiences are booked in India localy because I wanted to go to nice honeymoon in australia. Going to the beach for a honeymoon is standard practice over there but why would i go there when we have plenty awesome ones in australia.
Thank u for your comment and have a great evening.

  • OP, makeup is very personal and must always be tried on before buying shades.. unless she has tried certain brands and knows it'll work for her, it would be a hit and miss. Skincare on the other hand is a safer option. Perhaps send her a few brand links and see if it interests her. Most of them do combo packs, which would be well suited for gifting.
    - Kora organics
    - Aesop
    - Kiehl's
    - CeraVe (Bear in mind while great and personal favourite of mine, I wouldn't choose that as a gifting option)

Handbags - Ask her if what kind she likes or wants (Eg: Cross body bag, tote bag, hobo bag, shoulder bag)
Some brand aroudn the price mark an
    - Marc Jacobs (This one is cult favourite)
    - Kate Spade
    - Furla

Bottom line, do not try to surprise a girl unless you can very sure she's going to like it. You're planning on spending a good deal of money on things she would have very personal opinions about. Buy one good item (perhaps a luxury handbag) and keep the rest for honeymoon shopping. Congrats and all the best!

    • Thats what I said. I am thinking That I should stick with skin care and buy any cosmetics which fiancee wants.Perfumes i am thinking is all good but again no idea cause tiktok ppl say buy zara some say this or that. too confusing espcially for women perfume.

  • Where possible, it would be a nice touch to include some Australian businesses and their products.

Maybe include a candle in your gifts?

I used my google-fu and found some Aussie ones that sell candles and some have other things too.

Urban Rituelle - they have candles and some hand cremes, soaps and other products.

Glasshouse - well known Australian brand

    Ecoya

    Maison Blanche

    Tanda

    SoH Melbourne

    Meeraboo

    Byron Bay candles

These are a few suggestions for you :)
