69% off Complete Skateboards - GIRL $49, Habitat $49.30 + $8 Shipping ($0 with $100 Orders, or $9.95 Express) @ ScooterCrew

50

I'd been searching for a bargain on complete Skateboards for a while as they don't come up much. ~$49 for a high quality maple board is a steal, they'd easily sell for equal the price on facebook once you get over your midlife crisis/hyperfixation.

The deal features a few decks from each brand, including: GIRL, Enjoi, Blind, Darkstar, Habitat, and Impala. As a beginner or intermediate, you can't go wrong with any of these, assuming the size/wheel hardness suits.

Also available on the ScooterCrew eBay, which has different shipping costs which worked out slightly cheaper in my case (Would've been eBay plus but don't remember). https://www.ebay.com.au/str/thescootercrew

some decks are birch instead of maple so make sure to check out the specs if the type of wood is important to you

All of these boards are from DSM/Dwindle and are regularly this cheap across multiple places. This is still a good deal! But it's a far cry to the madness that was Conveyor unloading all of their stock

Globe seem to be regularly unloading all their stock on Conveyor still. About once a month their stock changes with new completes for $50, still the best quality completes I've seen for anywhere near that price.

I'm also coming to learn that the quality of the trucks/bushings/bearings/wheels is more important than the deck - decks are something you regularly replace, but a good set of trucks will last a few years. No idea what any of the trucks on this deal will be like.

i'm seeing tensors if they're listed. most seem to be unbranded

Hollow kingpin tensors (often black, listed on Globe G2 and G3 completes in particular) have a great feel to them. Solid-cast tensors (what it'll be unless specified as black powder coat or hollow) are incredibly heavy personally, might be ok for endurance at least

Any website that has pop-ups like

Someone in Docklands just purchased a ……

Gets a big fat no from me. I refuse to buy anything from you until you delete this shit scootercrew.

    • I agree. I hate that on sites, it's fake and makes it feel tacky

today i learned there's actually a term for that: dark patterns.
probably more catchy than "slimy sales tactics"

    • Agree 100%. Same with Captcha where you have to click any picture that looks like a truck.

I wonder if there are any browser plugins that block those “someone just bought…” popups. I use ad/tracking blockers on all my browsers and Hush on iOS (Safari plugin) which blocks cookie consent messages. You can get overlay zappers for Firefox which blow away those full screen overlays that whinge at you to join their email spam list. The one I use is called F**k It. Works ok.

The amount of effort you have to go to in order to view websites in a functional and clear way without having your identity tracked everywhere is pretty sad. The internet has become a corporate, commercial network.
