Pixel 7 Pro Screen Protector Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a tempered glass screen protector for the Pixel 7 Pro that:
- is curved
- doesn't have the horrendous fingerprint circle
- the whole protector sticks to the screen (not just the edges)

I bought the Zuslab one and it's killing me (not literally).

  • unfortunatley the best is also the most expensive…. šŸ˜„

this is in USD let that sink in especially once you get to shipping cost…. ouch!

    • I saw this - it seems to be the reddit-approved one, but the price is ridiculous. ;_;

    • Can confirm, that for curved screen Whitestone Dome is the best option (I have it installed on my old and current Samsung device).

Note: they are expensive though ($50+)

    • WTF my comment went unpublished. Because can't post ebay link?

Anyways official Whitestone AU seller on ebay (Dome Glass) made theirs available this morning for preorder stock next week. $89 for two glass with free shipping, unlike $85 for single glass on the Whitestone AU website.

Cheaper if you have ebay codes also.

    • I agree
I got this on my pixel 6 Pro, and it's the best screen protector I've ever owned (not to mention the most expensive)

Whitestone Dome are the best if you don't drop your phone. Lol

If you drop it and it lands on the screen/edge it will most likely chip/crack due to the nature of the curved screen and the thinness of these protectors.

I've tried this protector on both Pixel 6 Pro & S22 Ultra and everytime I've dropped them the protector has chipped/cracked, they both had a case on as well.

Not sure if I'm unlucky or not but I don't believe these protectors are worth the asking price if they chip/crack so easily, I've tried them a few times now and all have failed me. :'(

For my Pixel 7 Pro I've gone with a Invisibileshield "Ultra VisionGuard" film style protector installed at PTC this time around, not as good as glass response wise, but at least it won't cracked when dropped. A bit pricey for what it is though ($55) but they give you 1 free replacement if required.

  • yeah they are by far the best been using them since Pixel 3 and there's nothing else like them but yeah price is stupid… only thing maybe is use the crap Zuslab one until Whitestone have a sale perhaps Black Friday next month and maybe find a friend with a P7P who wants one to and split the cost of the shipping ($32USD).

Though the Dome is a 2-Pack to so it's not too bad once to you calculate the price out and in reality it's still cheaper than the Zagg or Panzerglass rubbish from JB which are $69.95 each, stay clear of those I had a nightmare with Zagg on the P6P last year curved screen just bubbles super bad terrible product… very poor value for money, reviews on JB site seem to indicate same problems this year.

I'm using one of those hydrogel ones on mine and on my past phone (Oneplus 8 Pro). They're cheap, easy to install and feel/work really well for not being glass, you're not going to get as much protection as tempered glass, but it's much better than having nothing on there.

Due to the curve at the edges of the screen the only tempered glass protector that looks and works well is the Whitestone, all the others are crap.

  • yep sad state of affairs you get either super cheap rubbish or super expensive top end for Glass protectors… damn curved screens šŸ˜†

not a fan of film but your right way better than the cheapie glass ones, if whitestone priced themselves better they'd be on a winner.

  • I am also in the market for one. It seems like the dome is the way to go.

I wish they would just have swapped to a flat panel. Surely I can't be the only one that prefers no curve on the glass.

    • Agreed - I hate curved screens, but can't do anything about it

  • your not :) does my head in curved screens

    • the whole protector sticks to the screen (not just the edges)

For the whole screen stick, your options are either UV Cured (ie. Whitestone Dome) or Hydrogel.

  • It's a pain to find them, and apply them properly, on curved screens. I hate curved screens. I used a plastic one on my 6 pro

    • Same here. Got it custom-made at a Phone King store where they use a machine to cut it out

Can't post the link as ozbargain unpublishes my comment. Seatch for Dome Glass Australia on ebay.

    • nice find… that makes it ok'ish at $42.27 each (delivered) with current eBay code (PLUSOCT1) $84.55 for a 2-pack with UV, way cheaper than Zagg rubbish at $69.95 each.

    How about not using one?

    • Scared of damaging the screen. I want it to last forever and ever.

I have been using Spigen cases and screen protectors on my phones for years. Excellent products and available locally in aus.

    • tempered glass screen protector

      Pays to read the OP.

      • I don't think there is a decent glass film for a phone that has a curved screen.

I agree with Brucey210 that the Spigen Neo Flex is the best option.

        • Have you used it?
I'm trying to figure out if it is a firm plastic or similar to the hydrogel protector?

          • +1

@ssx: Yes, it is much firmer than hydrogel, but can still get marks from fingernails etc over time. It won't stretch like the hydrogel though.

  • I have used a liquid screen protector, combined with a hydrogel plastic protector on my P6P. Worked a treat. Have since done the same on the P7P. That gives additional protection in terms of hardness and physical barrier.

  • I got Zuslab Anti-spy tempered glass really like it, but fingerprint doesn't work so disappointed… I've tried many ways posted on other forums where some people said it worked with tempered glass, but nothing really works for me :(.

    • It's really weird….husband has the Lenovo Legion dual 2 phone and uses cheap AliExpress glass protectors, with no effect on the fingerprint reader.

Not sure how Google has failed to figure it out.

      • yeah :( really weird, I guess will try another screen protector…

  • The best one I can recommend is https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334574932873?var=543669675288 from Spigen.

It is a bit pricey, but better than hydro film ones you can find on Amazon - they stretch after a couple of weeks and will need replacement, where as the Spigen one is much stronger and just as easy to apply.

  • I got the ZUSLAB glass (?) screen protector from ebay. I must say it is awful to the point I must have done something wrong. It has this weird cutout for the fingerprint reader which somehow got dirty after i peeled the film off. So theres this obnoxious circle cutout thing. The whole thing is very cloudy and I can see the edges are coming up (but I did try to reseat it once).

  • I did a bit a searching around and the whitestone dome is one of the best with IMBZBK concerning the tempered glass on the pixel 7 pro.
As it's rather pricy and comes with 3 tempered screen, would anyone in north brisbane willing to split cost with me?

  • I've already used Zuslab Tempered and Maxshield Hydrogel anti-spy, the temperated glass Fingerprint doesn't work at all and with the hydrogel just sometimes :( so frustrating… I guess gonna get whitesone (note that without screen protector fingerprint works well)

beside that, Planning to get one case from here, free shipping to Au

  • Hi Op, just recently got my pixel 7 pro. Just wondering what did you end up buying for screen protector? Really don't want to pay that much for a screen protector.

    • I still have the crappy zuslab one. I actually bought the Spigen Neo Flex but have not applied it because I am scared of using a non-glass tempered protector.

I will be trying out the neo flex soon, I guess if I don't like it then I can buy another crappy zuslab one.
