Recommendations Needed for a Quality Microwave

My ~15 year old Panasonic NN-ST657S microwave packed it in this morning so I need to try and buy a replacement in a hurry. I've done a quick look around and have read a few OzBargain posts and I still have no idea what to go for.

My old microwave was a 32L inverter so I wouldn't really want to go smaller than that as we are a family of 5. I would also rather pay for a higher end model if it will last longer and be worth the upgrade, rather than paying for a cheapie.

I've seen quite a few comments that some models will interfere with bluetooth and wi-fi signals when being used. Given that I have a mesh wi-fi network and use bluetooth headphones for calls & meetings regularly when I work from home, I'd really like to avoid this issue if possible.

I've also seen that there are a few flat bed models without turntables, but have seen mixed reviews on these. I'd definitely be open to a flatbed (or any other new fancy tech), but only if it heats evenly.

Are there any makes & model that anyone could recommend that meet my criteria?

I'd just get another Panasonic inverter.

IMO ignoring any gimmicks or stylish looks, the Panasonics are up there with the best, I'd only switch to a different brand if you had a compelling reason.

I have a modern Panasonic and don't have any issues with WiFi or bluetooth.

Head to the nearest Bing Lee or HN or JBHiFi Home and grab one that you like that they have in stock if you need it today.

  • Sharp or Panasonic

Can recommend the R350EW 34L 1200W Inverter - $239 after $10 off coupon, pickup at a WA TGG store

How do you define a quality? Kmart microwave would be good as Panasonic.
Its all about features these days.
Just go visit a white good retailer and pick one that suite you.

      🤣

      • Top 10 according to Choice, all rated between 85-90%(in order) @IIGnomeII

Isn't that consider as good as ? 😉

Tech that used within the microwaves are basic and old. Apparently older the microwave , less effective it operates, so no point keeping it for 10 years either.

    • Good value for money, surely better than Target.
If you're lazy, an all stainless model is easier to clean.

  • All these got a turntable, right? I would try to get a flatbed one.

  • I've also seen that there are a few flat bed models without turntables, but have seen mixed reviews on these.

I've got one. Most days, it heats evenly. On the odd occasion, it doesn't. (But if I had to, I'd get still the same one again).

  • My parents had a National/Panasonic Genius from 1980, i still had it till 2015, wasn't in a situation to get it repaired when it stopped working.

Been through 3 cheap arse CHINESE ones since.

Going back to a Quality non CHINESE Microwave now.
