Rangehood Recirculating Kit Installation Question

Hi guys,

I bought a Bosch 60cm slide out rangehood and due to being in an apartment, I'm considering to buy a recirculating kit (https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/bosch-clean-air-…).

My issue is currently I'm going through renovation and the guys are coming to put in the rangehood tomorrow. This kit is currently out of stock, so this means I won't be able to get the guys to install them for me tomorrow.

The question is can this kit be installed after the rangehood is put in place? Sorry for the noob question…

  • Assuming they can actually easily access a pathway from a vent (that they'd have to install on roof as you cant vent straight into a ceiling space… ) - down to your kitchen area, surely theyd have to pull it out , attach the piping then put it back together?

    • Don't vent into ceiling as it creates a fire hazzard due to the oil buildup.

    • nah I have decided not to risk vent into ceiling. This was on my mind for a few days actually.

Fire hazard & oil are the main concern here as AndyC1 mentioned

      • Just to be clear I said (can’t) because yes it is a huge fire hazard

  • Yes.

Get the measurements of the rangehood from the unit's documentation.

Give it to the reno guys to make sure the cavity is there to allow you to place the unit in, be able to slide it out, with the unit not visible except for the sliding handle.

Its a bitch to install so get a friend to help you.

    • Hi thanks for replying! What I meant is that the rangehood guy and the kitchen Reno guy are doing work together, so the rangehood will be installed before the kit arrives. I’m wondering if the kit can be installed AFTEr the Rangehood is in place

  • +1

I have installed a 60cm Bosch Series 2 slide out recently

This is the part - https://www.bosch-home.com.au/shop-productlist/cooking-and-b…

I had trouble finding it because they changed the number every so slightly and the systems aren't matching up. Gave Bosch a call and they gave me that link above.

Yes, it can be installed after. You need a hole in the top to vent back into the room (the white thing in the photo) but the actual carbon filter takes about 10 seconds to install.

    • thank you I bought the exact same one! I will send you a pm with a few questions I hope you don’t mind me asking!

      • Hi sauce2k, im in the same situation as you were . Just wanted to find out if you ended up installing the recirculating kit and was it easy . Im wanting to purchase the BOSCH 60cm slide out series 2. But I need it recirculating not ducted. Is it an easy install , my kitchen guy not keen . Any info would really be appreciated

        • hey man sorry I won't be much help here..my handyman installed everything for me.

          • @sauce2k: No problems thats fine. Do you remember if he ended up having any issues when he installed the rangehood and the recirculating kit. Also how are you finding the rangehood

            • @Mar123: hmm not that I'm aware of. Yeh it's alright man, tbh it's a very small rangehood does the job but still makes the room smell
