Experience a cruise and walking tour of Tasmania's most beautiful location - Maria Island!

There are two day-tours available - perfect for couples and families:

  • Maria Island + Circumnavigation (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat)
  • Maria Island + Ile Des Phoques (Wed/Thur/Sun)

The circumnavigation takes you all the way around Maria Island's entire coastline, while the Ile Des Phoques tour takes you inside a massive limestone sea cave off the northern tip of Maria Island!

Both tours break for a lunch on the water in a sheltered bay, before dropping you off at Darlington for a guided tour or the option of exploring the island at your leisure before returning to Triabunna.

It's an awesome day out providing the perfect balance between land-based and water-based exploration 🏖️🌊

  • Great place. Lots of wombats.

  • +1

I just returned from a roadtrip around Tasmania and used Lap of Tasmania to plan it!
Maria Island was so much fun, especially for those who love cute wombats walking around not giving a shit about humans. Sort of like Tasmania's version of quokkas.

    • You don't have to be that far by the boat to get up close and personal with wombat, plenty around cradle Mountain or Wilson prom or pretty much any national parks in Tassie.

      • I agree, but they are way more densely populated at Maria Island.

  • Anyone recommend bike hire for a day tour?

    • It's tiring because it's quite hilly but you can see more things in one day. The bikes for hire aren't terrible. Would recommend.

    • Yeah, I walked the northern island bit (didn't cross the spit to the southern island) and it was quite a long walk, but still very enjoyable. Riding would have allowed for a more relaxed pace.

  • Around 20 years ago I was doing a 3 night camp on Maria, had someone drop me off on southern end via boat and I walked back. Great walk, lots of unsealed road to walk on, old farm and plenty of wildlife.

  • Just google and found this, saved me $27, thanks!
