Linsar LS85UHDZEN 85in TV for $1499, Anyone Bought One?

The Good Guys have this TV for sale ( https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/linsar-85-inches-4k-uhd-smart… ), it is marked as a new item and as such there don't seem to be any reviews that I was able to find anywhere so far. Running Tizen OS so there may be limited app support and of course no OLED/QLED screen at this price. Could this possibly be the best dollar per inch 85 inch TV out at the moment? Anyone bought one, what is your experience with it so far?

    For 85 inch maybe…

Otherwise https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/blaupunkt-75-4k-ultra-hd-… when it goes on sale prob the best dollar per inch (it’s a 75 inch )

    • There have a few cheap 75 inch on sale, yeah for 85 inch I mean the cheapest

    • i think … tv inch =/= screen area , doesn't compute linearly

  • Linsar are apparently British designed, and built in Turkey by a company called Vestrel.
Reviews in general for their products of other sizing seem to be extremely low, with most purchasers not happy with the brand.
    Fwiw.

    • Reviews on Trustpilot are low, on the Good Guys site reviews for other models of the same brand average out at around 3.5/5 though. Possible that they remove a number of negative reviews.

      • Current day hisense flat out making a decent 65/75 based off ozbargainer first hand accounts, I’d say 3.5/5 probably generous tbh

  • I'm also looking at the 55" model and going to pay a visit to Good Guys tomorrow.

As you mentioned there is very little info and zero reviews on the web at the moment as Tizen OS licensed models seem to have been introduced only 2 months ago. All other TVs in the house happen to be Samsung so I would not mind another Tizen based TV. This is for the guest bedroom seeing only occasional use so a budget model would be the way to go. Purchased an Eko 55" Pro Series from BigW in August which was an utter disappointment and literally took a whole minute and half to turn on and had horrible scrolling and app loading times. Luckily it stopped working just after 2 months so I got a full refund from BigW and lesson learnt. With the Linsar I would only care about booting and loading times and nothing else so I'd test this tomorrow and pull the trigger accordingly. I'm sure 85" would have the same hardware specs with panel size being the only difference. Also if you are willing to downsize a bit Aldi had the 70" Tizen TV for 799 this weekend and it is quite likely to be another "rebadged Linsar" from Tempo.

Wonder how the Tizen models compares with their own WebOS offerings? I'm sure hardware would be bottom of the barrel and refresh rate stuck at 60Hz but wonder f these would perform better than Android and Google TV based budget offerings on low spec hardware.

  • We have one of these at work in the boardroom. Decent enough for presentations / teams VC.
From the little I saw of FTA - not great. But if you want a strikingly large tv in your living space for little money it does the trick.

The remote will drive you bonkers - the mouse/pointer thing is infuriatingly inaccurate.

    • I think you are referring to their older WebOS model not the Tizen OS TV OP is referring to. The remote is quite similar to the one that comes with newer Samsung TVs.

I bought a 65" model and am quite happy with it. I have had it for just over a year. I don't use the smart features or FTA, which is where most of the complaints come from. I use it as a screen. It turns on and off fast, and that's all I want from it. The picture quality is good. Sound is terrible. As for the panel itself, mine is okay. I have bought several TVs and it is very much a lottery, even with more expensive brands.
