Recommendations for Credit Card with Rewards and Balance Transfer

Hi,

There are so many CC options available, and was wondering what is a great CC for Rewards and Balance Transfer to move away from an AMEX No Fee Card that I could recommend to a friend.

A lower annual fee would be great, and are sign in rewards/cashback offers still available if taking up a balance transfer option?

Thanks

Doing a balance transfer and looking for rewards on the same card is silly. Do a balance transfer at the lowest rate, pay it off, then try chase rewards.

Best way to get rewards is the cards with required spend, which isn't a good idea when you're paying off a balance.

100%. Just look to transfer balance with 0% interest for longest amount of time you can find and don't worry about bonus points for now. Pay off your debt first then look at bonus point card offers

  • All 3 things low rate BT, high rewards and low annual fee are usually mutually exclusive, i.e. you can't get all 3 of them. Choose your priorities. The AMEX no-fee card (Essential I am guessing) is a great all-rounder but doesn't have BT at all (AFAIK). You can also go for their no-fee Qantas/ Velocity Cards depending on whether you shop at Coles or Woolies. They also have a card with an 8.99% interest rate so you can use that while you pay off your balance.

If you don't care about rewards, Westpac has a $200 cashback offer and no fee for the first year on their low-fee card OR 0% BT for 28 months.

  • Will do, and thank you

  • Hey team,

Anyone know what the best deal is right now? for balance transfer only card

Also should i apply for a visa or mc debit to make online transactions while i pay my card off with whoever?
