Buying from Amazon.de : Are the items packaged well to avoid damage in transit?

This question is for ozbargainers who buy items from amazon.de (and possibly .fr and .uk)…
how well are the items packaged for delivery? Is it just the retail box or is there extra packaging over it? Is the package left on ur doorstep or do u have to sign for it?
and how long does delivery take?

I am thinking of ordering 2 braun food processors from amazon.de. Just concerned about damage during transit as the original retail packaging is not that great considering the heavy item.

I got a dyson vacuum and some braun accessories for my hand blender from amazon.de .. arrived in 3 days with DHL… no problems with it and unlike amazon USA, items need to be signed for before the driver would release it

They all come out of the same warehouse in Germany.

    The packaging is impeccable.

  • just an update.
ordered on friday night, delivered tuesday morning via ups. That was quick. Delivery had to be signed for.

Packaging was good on the smaller food processor but the bigger processor came in its original retail packaging. So that box got bumped and ripped but no damage inside. The only thing is that a small attachment is not in the package… now I need to figure out how to ask for that in german!

Overall very happy with my bargain purchases. thanks for ur replies.
