This is no deal. Its quite expensive compared to asian supermarkets.

Asian supermarkets don't let you buy alcohol by themself here in QLD (not sure about other states). They make you purchase other groceries as well with the purchase due to liquor licensing laws.

Last time I looked, the cheapest online prices at other liquor stores is around $12.50 (plus shipping), so there is still a decent saving with this deal.

I think they are making that bit up…

I think they are making that bit up…

Nah, seems to be a thing in QLD as the asian grocers near me on the Gold Coast do the same thing. I think the license is similar or the same as this

As long as the alcohol is for consumption off site, is less than 2Ltrs and makes up less than 75% of the sale it's fine. At my local you can buy no more than a six pack of beers at once and you have to buy other stuff with it which suggests this is the license they have. I normally just grab a pack of frozen dumplings although one time the guy let me get away with a bag of lollipops he had on the counter haha.

  • does the taste better compared to other soju e.g good day, hitenjiro ?

$10/bottle for soju is no deal, agree with others that in Asian supermarket you can get this for $7~ each.

    • Not everyone has Asian supermarket next door to them. Also in some states (e.g. QLD), you can't just purchase alcohol by itself from those Asian supermarkets.

They're $10.10 each at Dan Murphy's, and it's pretty common to get a BWS deal of 3 sojus for $30

This is exactly “Buy two for the price of three, and get the third one FREE”

I know it's a lot of soju but I usually get mine from this seller on eBay. works out around $7.25 per bottle, ie slab of 20 for $145 Inc shipping with eBay plus

    • Can mix n match..?

      • Nah comes in a set box of different flavours, you cant choose. This is the last box I bought and I'm only half way through as a lot of them are hit and miss. My favourite flavour is grape so, just getting a whole case of that next time.

Actually, Soju is normally $2 in South Korea.

      • In Korea right now and can confirm each bottle is 1500krw. Just purchased premium 40% Soju for 10000krw.

  • Soju is dirt cheap - Should never pay more than $8 per bottle, and even that is expensive.

A lot of korean supermarkets do bottles for $5-$6..

  • $10+ is the price you get charged ordering at restaurants

  • +1

Thanks OP - picked up 6. Not a bad price for chum churum, especially if you're not close to the few places that sell it cheaper

  • Not a deal. Most asian grocers stock it far cheaper than any western bottle shop.

  • If there is no Soju near you, you can DIY.
Just buy cheap vodka and soft water or distilled water and sweetener. Soju normally use Erythritol, xylitol or stevia.

Eg. Absolut vodka 700ml(alcohol 40%) + 900ml water + sweetener(mix it up little by little) = 4.5 bottle of plain flavour Soju
Yes, it's same price or much higher than average Soju price…

Absolut has various flavours you can make flavoured Soju much easily.

Honestly, pay $10 for Soju? I go with cheap wine…

  • Oh damn, I need to hand back my Ozbargain badge, I’ve been drinking Hojusoju…. which is great - but not this price.

  • What does Original taste like??

    Blueberry and yoghurt my picks
