How to to Use Search Terms with Special Characters on OzB?

I want to search and alert for any 32" monitor deals. However, if i just type in 32" the quote gets ignored and i get results for any deal with a $32 in the price, for example.

Is there a way to escape special characters in OzB search for i can search for 32"? Something like 32/" ? that particular search term doesnt work however.

thanks!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/monitor+32inch

    or even this is sufficient:

That's if the deal has been tagged correctly (not always)

    • so is the answer that you cant escape special characters in a search, but if deals have been tagged correctly with "inch" then i should be able to find everything i need?

      • From what I know, yes, but I'm no expert in searching on here

how does one subscribe to a tag then? cant seem to work that out

    • I have been trying to figure this out too. I found that you can create a search based on a tag by typing tag:32inch into the search bar.

Searching via this method generates the expected results and a Create Alert button appears underneath the search bar on the left. However, the Alerts don’t actually work. New Deals that are published with the tag do not trigger the alert to fire. I’m currently trying to work out if this is a new bug or a known issue.

I’ll keep on searching through the forums, but maybe the mods can weigh in if they see this.

    • Subscribing will send an email or site notification to your browser.
There is subscribing to products, brands etc.
There is subscribing to search alerts.
There is subscribing to stores, users etc.

No subscribing to tags. However, all tags have an RSS feed listed at the bottom, so 32inch. You can stick that in your RSS reader (e.g. Feedly, Outlook, etc.), setup something in IFTTT to email (or tweet, whatever) whenever there is something new for that tag, RSS to Slack or Discord notification etc..
