Hi all,

Just saw an ad on Facebook and Bob Jane T-Marts is having 30% off Pirelli Tyres. Slightly better (5%) than the buy 3 get 1 free deal

Edit: Thanks bryans for informing us that this deal is also available at Jax Tyres and the price may be cheaper there, so make sure you check before purchasing.

  • Bought some Pirellis from mycar the a few days ago for fitting in two weeks. Reckon I can cancel that order? Tried calling mycar but not open now and this offer ends tonight so would need to book with Bob Jane before midnight. Cost was $1k with mycar vs $880 with Bob Jane on this sale. I haven't actually put down a deposit or any money with mycar yet.

    • +1

Then why cant you cancel the booking? How are they going to hold you to it?

      • Yeh I don't think it will be a problem - just wanted to know if anyone had experience with mycar in cancelling bookings

        • Personally, i dont have any experience cancelling with mycar. But you might be overthinking it though…

          • +1

@jecec: You were totally right, completely overthought it. Ended up buying from Bob Jane. Called myCar this morning and cancelled - no questions asked.

  • Any recommendations for a Honda CRV 2019 model 235/60R18.
Have a hole punch on rear driver side that i went to 5 mechanics and they wont fix and ask to replace.
    Cheers

You went to 5 mechanics about a punctured tyre?

Clearly it's not repairable then. Damage either too close to sidewall or tyre is already unroadworthy.

      • yea all said close to sidewall but mycar who said it can be repaired without looking at the tyre. the tyre pressure hasnt changed for 2 weeks. been checking everyday so thinking is it better to just leave it.

        • "…but MyCar"

I wouldn't trust them with my wheelbarrow tyre.

  • Damn no stock for Santa Fe or CX5 tyres.

Overrated tyres. Wear insanely fast and fuel economy a lot higher than Dunlop.

    • +1

Do you want soft compound tyres with good grip .. hard compound tyres with long life
      .. up to you matey

  • Note that the terms and conditions say the tyres have to be fitted within 7 days to get the discount…

The offer is valid for one day on the 30th of October 2022 only. Valid on any current, in stock Pirelli tyres purchased via the bobjane.com.au website as at 30 October 2022, no rainchecks, not valid for sales on any other sales platform. Discount code PIR30 must be applied and approved at checkout to receive a 30% discount. Purchases must be fully invoiced and fitted within 7 days from purchase date to validate the 30% discount. Offer valid while stocks last. Offer excludes Fleet, Government and Wholesale purchases. Not available with any other offer.

    • What the hell, surely can't bill us full amount when we select a time slot for fitment outside 7 days away and get discount

    • I purchased and my invoice (after paying a deposit) has an outstanding amount of the discounted price. I booked the tyre fitment one month from now.

If anyone else is in a similar boat, can they please confirm if indeed they remove the discount within 7 days?

It wouldn't make sense to limit it to 7 days because they can't guarantee a booking slot or stock when doing it online anyway.

Nevermind, I just received a call from Bob Jane saying no stock (despite me booking a month later) and they will give a refund. what a rort of a deal!

      • I see they cancelled your order, but in case anyone else was in a similar boat I placed pickup and install for the 10th. Just got an email with a final invoice today marked as collected. My assumption is the store has finalised the order on their end to meet the 7 days. They shut at 2pm so couldn’t call to confirm so I guess I’ll find out Monday. The invoice I got today still retains the 30% discount.

  • Thanks OP. Saved me $280 on a pair of front.

Now to look at what other bargains I can find on here cause I was gonna spend the money on RRP anyways.

You can skimp on things with a car but never tyres and brakes.

  • Any recommendations for RAv4 2012 and 2018 CX8?

  • I am looking for motorcycle's tyre deal? can't find any on their websites

Of course phone call this morning stating none in stock, including warehouse in Melbourne. “I can offer you blah blah…” forgetting the discount. I’ll take the refund thanks. Not sure if this meets the guidelines for a negative vote but at best the stock control aspect of their website is obviously out to lunch.

Looks like a typical bait and switch

I got a call with out of stock but they offered me an equivalent tyre set at 30% off that was interstate and will arrive tomorrow

ie. I ordered "MO" edition tyres for Mercedes, but they only stocked regular edition which from all accounts seems identical. They even offered 30% off the price difference which was $15 extra per tyre. Maybe a store to store thing, they were really good about it.

Got a call from my store. They also said no stock but will order them in.
I also had my booking out a month which they said wasn't allowed but if I paid in full today they would allow me a couple of weeks which I agreed.

  • Just got an email that my order is confirmed and to bring ID at my nominated location and date/time.

Maybe it’s because there isn’t many cars with the size 275/40/20 compared to 16-18in wheels?

  • I purchased yesterday and received my appointment booking confirmation from the store. My appointment is tomorrow.

However, the invoice sent by the atore did not reflect the discpunt 30% off price.

    Anyone faced this too?

    • Did you use the discount code?

      • Yes i definitely did. On the email i received after paying online, it shows the price, -30% and the final discounted price.

However, when the store sent me an email the next day with an attached invoice, 30% was no where to be seen.

        • The invoice is for tax purposes so won't show the promotion discount

    • Bob Jane confirmed $522 balance owing when I get the tyres on tomorrow. Which is right with the deposit made the other night.

For peace of mind you might want to call your place too and confirm.

      • Got my tyres changed earlier this week.

Store wasnt aware of the 30% and had full proce on their system. However, when i showed them my 30% email confirmation, it was all good.

Most surprisingly, when u picked up the car, they said the final price was acrually lower than the 30% off (about 5% more off). I didnt ask why, and i said im not gonna complain about that. Lol

        • My invoice has $390 to be remitted (head office maybe?) so I am guessing the service centre keeps the difference $132.

Did you have to pay for an alignment too or did you not do it or it is included? They just told me it include balance and fitting. Didn’t mention alignment.

          • +1

@Littlevu: Definitely includes fitting and balancing. Alignment is always extra and i didnt go for it, though i probably should.

  • +2

What a farce. Put on a promotion and then they can't deliver the tyre. Useless…
