What Is a Home Security Camera with a Fast App and Web Access?

I have a tapo c200 which is is great for the price, but it is a bit junk. the tapo app is really slow just to access the web cam view, and it has no web interface. It's also technically supposed to support RTSP protocol, but I think the hardware is too junk to be able to stream it for more than 5 seconds without freezing.

Is there any reasonably priced home security camera with these features, preferably with no subscription cost? Ideally a wired one, as battery powered devices will also be slow, likely, as they go in to a low power mode frequently.

  • RTSP works fine for me to apps like TinyCam or Home Assistant etc…

I've had good success using Dahua cameras and NVR.

I've got a few IPC-HDW4631C-A (they're a bit old now) and recently added some IPC-HDW3641EMP-AS.

They're wired and POE so simple to install (need a POE breakout cable for the camera end).

I'm using them with a VR2108HS-8P-4KS2 NVR which is working great.

Has been installed for about 3 years now and "just-works"

I can access my cameras from my phone anywhere - works great.
