Adaptor for Dyson Accessories on Ryobi Vacuum

Hi,
we use to have a dyson vacuum but it died and we have a ryobi wet and dry vacuum now.
The thing is that I bought the dyson car cleaning kit but it's not compatible with the Ryobi vacuum hose.
I measured them and it's because they are both 35mm in total diameter.
I thought I could just buy a plastic tube with an internal diameter of 35mm as a joiner but :
- I can't find anything were I wouldn't have to buy 3 or 6m when I need 10-15cm.
- I'm wondering if I would need something with a diameter from 34 to 35mm to have a good seal around the 2 ends and to avoid them not staying on.

Any idea what would be the best way to proceed ?

  • If you're willing to pay $20 - $30 you should be able to find short lengths of 35mm ID silicone hose at either a specialist hose supplier or a lot of car parts suppliers.

As another option, someone with a 3D printer could easily make an adapter.

    • I thought about getting it 3d printed but I'm not sure if the material is suitable for that.

  • There's an array of materials available for 3D printing. I think a hard material would work fine if the fit was right, after all most vacuum connections are done this way, but if you really want to be sure it could be done in something like TPE which is a soft flexible rubber like material.

  • 3D print and adapter.

  • Hair dryer and soften up one and push it over the other?

  • You could try getting a dust extractor attachment and cut it to use the sizes that connect your two attachments together
