Bosch Series 8 SMS8EDI01A Dishwasher Plate Height Issue

Hi all,

I'm looking at the Bosch series 8 SMS8EDI01A dishwasher after my current AEG that came with the house has finally given up.

I've read reviews about people complaining that they can't fit standard australian dinner plates in the bottom basket without it hitting the spinning arm below the middle basket, can anyone confirm this issue or otherwise.

My plates are 27cm in diameter and the manual says the bottom basket can accomodate plates up to 28.5cm, (doesn't mention if the middle basket has to be all the way up in the highest position).

Any insight would be much appreciated.

TIA

  • Check 8.10, page 27, they mention something about adjusting the basket heights there.

    • Ah, great, thanks.

Looks like I would need it on the upper level to accomodate my plates but it would work

      • Our dishwasher is like that. Some of our plates won't fit unless you move the upper basket up, then you can't fit other things up there. We only use those larger plates for special occasions.

  • Don’t have an issue with plates however we removed the top (cutlery) drawer to allow wine glasses to be accommodated in the middle drawer. (Never a fan of a cutlery tray - we’ve always used the cutlery basket in the bottom tray)

    • +1

Cutlery tray is awesome if you can position your dishwasher next to your cutlery drawers. Unloading in a flashm

      • That's exactly how we have ours!

  • Take plates into E&S or Goodguys and test?

Our old dishwasher arm would get stuck also on our dinner plates. They are our daily plates so I could fit 4 at the outer edge before needing to adjust the top tray up (but then couldn't fit in wine glasses - also a daily used item ;) )

  • There is no way in hell a 27cm plate will be hitting the arm.
