My experiance is that this is garbage dog food. The real deal is the Turkey or Salmon Natures Domain line. More expensive, but much cheaper than anything else i can buy elsewhere. It's pretty much 50% of the reason i bought a costco membership.

    • Is the price increase they put on the salmon just online? I've been hoping it's still approx $65 in store

      • $73 in store(perth) 2 weeks ago but theres none left. Might have to order it online……

        • Same $73 in Melbourne (Moorabbin) and had stock of both Salmon and Turkey last visit. There was a patch a couple of months ago where no stock so I now buy a bit ahead of need.

Best value quality pellet dog food on the market.

    • I'm curious… Does this taste okay for human consumption?
Turkey and Sweet Potato sounds good!

      • There's no harm in trying kibble. It's formulated via taste-testing by humans anyway. The problem is while it contains thing you may eat, it is not designed for the human pallete. So little to no salt, for example, means the taste is quite bland by human standards.

Yes OP's dogfood is full of grains. The ones you have listed are made by the same company that makes Taste of the Wild (Diamond Food) which is an amazing grain-free dog food. The Salmon is the superior one IMO though both are good quality grain-free kibble anyway.

My previous dog loved it and lived off it for 10 years. It never changed in all that time. My current dog eats exclusively Lyka but if I was to go back to kibble for whatever reasons, I'd go back to this stuff.

      • I didn't know they made Taste of the Wild! Makes a lot of sense. I used to buy Taste of the Wild for my dog until I found out about the Costco brand. It's significantly cheaper and only slightly less better in terms of ingredients. Not to mention the bag is so much bigger. Unfortunately, my local Costco (Marsden Park) had been extremely inconsistent with stocking Nature Domain so I let my membership lapse. It was the main reason why I got membership in the first place.

    • How old does the dog need to be before i can start feeding him this, mine is 10 months old atm

      • Any dog food can be given to dogs from about 10 weeks onwards. Doesn't matter if it states its for puppies, adults or seniors but the nutrition will obviously be catered different for those ages, but it won't kill a puppy if you feed them senior-based kibble.

In this case, this stuff is an all rounder so caters for all ages.

        • Yeah true, although do think the puppy food have extra nutrients that adult dogs dont necessarily need

          • @michael9865: Puppy food is usually much more calory dense for their insanely fast growing

+1 for Natures Domain Salmon. On par with Taste of the Wild & Meals for Mutts.

  • Nature's domain for cats has been great for my cat as well. Has eaten it almost exclusively for years. Same quality food anywhere else is 2-3x the price, at least.

  • they used to sell another cat food with sweet potato instead of rice. that's much better
