Credit Card for Self Employed

I recently moved (6 months ago) into a self employed arrangement when I left my permanent job.

I was looking to get a better rewards card (have CBA Platinum rewards atm) and possibly with other perks, but realise that most of them have a requirement to be self employed for at least 12 months to 24 months.

Any suggestions as to a good rewards card that may not have the 12 months restriction for self employed?

This may be of some help > https://www.creditcard.com.au/creditcardapplicationselfemplo…

It's got a listing of most, if not all, banks and their criteria around self-employment.

  • Don't know if Amex are still lenient on the self-employed thing or not, but after the banking commission things got real tightened up.

  • We know what you talk about: CBA just teased me with step pay. So I answered ok I have it. My credit score was too high they were arguing.
Upon second test it looked like my skin is not of their desired pigmentation so they pulled out.

We recently chatted to CBA, they said they have an exemption to the 24 month rule if you were in the same profession before you went solo. i.e a carpenter for a building company and then went out on your own as a carpenter.

In the majority of the cases (ALL AFAIK) you'll need 2 years of NOA (they might ask for the accountant's info initially but then the banks ask the accountant for these docs), also you'll need to be registered for GST, and have $75k+ turnover.
