  • What is this, what does it do and how many should I buy?

  • Nice OP, was waiting till BF to purchase. No need to wait any longer…

  • That feeling when your new p7p case just arrives in the mail. Fml

  • Literally spent 75 on one 30 seconds before I saw this… Not happy

Can't believe I just spent $80 on case and accessories.
(got the MAG case, pram holder, ring, and added some colour ring thing to get free shipping.)

Silly question: in order to use the car/bike mounts, I need to buy a quadlock phone case?

    • +2

Either buy a case or the universal adapter that you stick on your current/preferred case

      • Is the mag adapter better than the original?

Does it affect NFC, apple pay that sort of thing?

        • +1

          Nope. No problems at all.
At least not on my S22+.
Regular desktop wireless charging is good. NFC google pay or Samsung Pay is good during regular normal everyday use. Never had an issue at all.
Infact, the Mag case is better than the original case as it sits flatter than the original QL case I had on my older S21.
I droppedy S21 heaps and never had an issue with phone or screen, so they're good in the protection way too.
I've just ordered the Mag wireless charger head for the car.
I already have the Mag case for S22+, bought in preparation for this BF sale, as mentioned, holding out to grab a few more bits for the Bf sale.
Mag case fits my original 360 car mount really good, the Mag connect will be even easier to use, and wireless charging as opposed to USB C cable charging.
Just back from my bike trip using the weatherproof wireless charger with vibration damper on the new mag case and held up to all the trails and tracks we tackled, so it's as good as the older style for secure connecting.
Ordered a second vibration damper, for my other bike. (Non weather proof wireless charge, though regular standard USB charger)
One of my mates on the trip confirmed his S21 was now stuffed after the last trip of relentless corrugation and tracks, so anything with a bike, for $25, I'd suggest the vibration damper as cheap insurance.

          • @Spending2Much: So you still have to twist the mag case into the mount like the original, it just has a magnet for added security? Because I was worried about it falling off my motorcycle.

Yeah I currently have a dbrand case and it has been amazing, I've dropped my phone many times and it looks new.

Would you need a vibration damper for bicycles as well?

Looks like I'll go with a mag case for now and see how it goes.

            • +1

@Muten-Roshi: The mag case still has the standard twist functionality for the twist mounts. All bike mounts are twist (so they don't fall off). Though there are other mounts that aren't twist and are only magnetic (for cars and for desks), so that's what the magnetic of the mag case is for. Hopefully that makes sense.

Awesome, thanks for putting this up. I love the quad lock case for my iphone 12 pro, I use it to mount the phone when out cycling, and keep it on all the time. The only complaint I have is that it stops wireless charging so I've ordered the Mag variant case which, fingers crossed, will sort that out and maybe be slightly less bulky.

  • Beware if you use them on a motorcycle or bicyle they dont actually lock and so can be stolen if you stop in dodgy areas

    • +4

I think people should already have the common sense to know these are just phone mounts.

      • It does say "lock" in the name. Theres no harm in warning people

        • They do lock on to the mount - so they don't fall off. I think that's what it means by the name.

Of course if you're off your bike, it's ideal to take your phone with you!

          • @enthusiast: The lock doesnt use a key so people can just grab and twist it. A guy had that happen to him at traffic light.

It really needs a key to keep it on

            • +2

@Tleyx: Would.you really, honestly, piss around with a key to lock your phone to the phone mount…

Just stick it in your pocket and use Bluetooth voice commands via headset, if you thought you were in the Bronx and likely to get jacked

I just recently got back from 3 days bush trails and tracks and water crossings and phone on the mount the whole time while riding. On and off whenever stopped or photos etc.
Never came off at all, unintentionally. Came off for photos or what not, but otherwise rock solid mounting
Handlebar mount, with vibration damper and weather proof wireless charger.
              They certainly do 'lock' on….

              • @Spending2Much: I cant see it in my pocket.

Yes i would use a key lock if rhey offered it.

They dont lock on with key. Why should people not be informed this and so they can male up their own mind about what suits them

                • @Tleyx: Did you read the product description and do your research before you purchase this?

                  • @edfoo: Yes

                    • @Tleyx: Then you would have known it only holds your phone securely in the mount, but does not prevent anyone from removing it. If you still don't understand how it works, then you have no one but yourself to blame.

            • @Tleyx: You should invent that, and go on shark tank or dragons den with your key lock security phone mount.

              • @Spending2Much: Have to compete with companies false advertising as locks when they are not…

Easier to get a rope and sell it as a bike lock and apparently that's good enough

                • +1

@Tleyx: You should probably also complain that it's only one single mount when the name literally has quad in it. They short changed you three of them too…..

                  • @Spending2Much: If you want to clarify that for other users its up to you. Thanks

    • +1

It's all good my bike costs 12 times my phone. I ain't leaving my shit for even a second.

      • +1

I hate it when bikes cost so much, people can no longer leave it alone (locked up) for just a brief moment. Defeat the purpose enjoying other things like long shopping, having a meal or watching a movie.

      • +1

Pepple have them stolen at traffic lights i meant

        • Makes sense. So many dodgy people around these days.

  • Orders on the 7th. Tracking shows parcel still sitting in Sydney. (Delivery to WA)

Well done Australia Post. You've succeeded again…..

    • Mine does not show tracking at all, order on 11/11, but still in confirmed status.

      • has yours been delivered yet?

  • Any feedback on the adhesive dash mounts? Do they stay stuck? Cheers.
